Fox Showcases Democrat Trying To Help Gingrich Qualify For Virginia Primary

By Brian

Finally, Fox News found a Democrat it likes! On Your World yesterday (12/27/11), former Virginia Democratic party chair Paul Goldman was a guest to discuss his efforts to get Newt Gingrich on the Republican primary ballot. Despite the fact that Gingrich had failed to get the needed 10,000 qualified signatures, Goldman said, "It isn't about party, it’s not about politics. It's about the right of the people to be able to choose who they want… In this case, what we have in Virginia is a real failure. There's all kinds of Republicans that feel disenfranchised…"

Goldman told guest host Eric Bolling, “We have the toughest requirements in the country… This is the right of the people… right to choose… I'm getting some criticism from my own party, but that’s OK."

Bolling asked if Goldman was going to help Rick Perry. Goldman answered cryptically, “This isn’t candidate specific… Let’s see what we can do.” However, he said Bachmann, Santorum and Huntsman  didn’t have much “credibility” considering that they didn’t even try to get on the ballot.

Bolling asked, "Have you heard from the Democratic Party?"

Goldman laughed. "No... I ain’t too worried about my own party.”

 “Fantastic!” Bolling said.

Right… a red state with 8.1 million people where the large majority of elected officials are Republicans. Trust me- if the people wanted Gingrich on the ballot, he’d be on the ballot.

Fess up, Fox News- what part does Gingrich play in the endgame here? You would have tossed him in the dumpster next to Perry and Bachmann id he wasn’t a part of it.

Really, Paul? Did these repubs get robo-calls telling them to vote on the wrong day? Were they required to take a literacy test in order to be registered? Are they under a voter ID law?

@patrick tolle: I hadn’t thought of that way — at first, I thought this was another case of a fake “Democrat” sticking their nose in.

But what you say makes sense: this could be a small-scale version of Rush Limpballs’ “Operation CHAOS 2008” {and successful — unlike that one}

Golding is from the Wanker Wing of the Democratic Party. Caddell and Schoen are the national co-chairs.
