Sarah Palin made it to the top of our Most Outrageous Quote poll again last week for the second week in a row. Once again, she blew away the competition, this time with her "wisdom" about threatening to shut down the government in order to defund Obamacare.
To refresh your memory, Palin's quote was:
That’s common sense.…Congress holds the purse strings. They can unfund anything they want to and that’s how you stop something that is not right, it’s not good, it’s not economic for we the people. So it’s a wise decisionfor Mr. Lee and others to decide not to budget for something that’s gonna be so burdensome to the American people.
Palin won with 78, or 30%, of the 259 total votes cast, thus demolishing her nearest competitor in the 7-person field, Chris Plante, who "suggested" Philip Seymour Hoffman play Hillary Clinton in an upcoming biopic. Plante received 42 votes (16%). You can view the full results here.
