Rupert Murdoch Criticizes - Then Apologizes For Criticizing - 'Jewish Owned Press' Over Israel

Posted by Ellen -461.20pc on November 18, 2012 · Flag

Rupert Murdoch stuck his nose into press coverage of Israel and just "asked," in a tweet yesterday, "Why Is Jewish owned press so consistently anti-Israel in every crisis?" Then, after a bit of an outcry, Murdoch apologized via another tweet today, "',Jewish owned press' have been sternly criticised, suggesting link to Jewish reporters. Don't see this, but apologise unreservedly."

As Media Matters noted, the phrase "Jewish-owned press" is something of an anti-Semitic dogwhistle about Jews controlling banks and the media. But to me, what's objectionable is that there's a whole lot of heckuva nerve going on there.

Apparently, controlling his own media empire is not enough for Murdoch. He thinks he should have a say in what all the other ones do and how they report it. And his beef is not with their methods of coverage but with their political slant - as he perceives it.

But most insulting to me, as a Jew, is his suggestion that he knows what Jews' political views should be, even though he's not Jewish. And then not understanding why Jews are offended!

Why Is Jewish owned press so consistently anti- Israel in every crisis?

Maybe it’s because the “Jewish Owned Press” sees daily, the constant human rights violations and oppression going on by their leadership towards the Palestine people and is speaking out about it. Apologizing for the obvious is a cowards way out to save face and money.

Rupert and Rick Sanchez can have many fine discussions about their shared views.

Nooz Corpse: We hate Jews but love Israel. Don’t ask us to explain.

Huh, it cut off the nd of that second part… it should read: Even at his absolutely most outspoken under Beck, he still never allowed blatant reference to the Judaism. He just let it be referenced. A LOT.

Ok, going now.

You gotta remember, Ellen… This is the same guy that all his US outlets regularly tell their audience that most of our problems are the fault of one Jewish man.

He’s definitely getting more blatant, though- even at his absolutely

Is it too late to revoke Wrinkled Rupert’s USA citizenship and send him to a remote sheep herd in Australia?

The coverage that i’ve seen has been a reporter talking about the iron dome system and israeli air strikes, then a short interview with someone from the israeli government. I don’t know how that translates to anti-israel. Maybe Rupert should explain his tweets. Also, apologizing when you don’t really think you said anything wrong isn’t all that convincing. IMO
