As Jon Stewart once said, conservative victimization is the true genius of what Fox News has accomplished. As such, Fox "News," didn't waste any time providing validation for right wing James O'Keefe wannabe, Jason Mattera, who is the most recent of a steady Fox parade of right wingers being persecuted by the forces of evil liberalism. Jason is very upset about the "hypocrisy" of NY Bloomberg's promotion of gun control while he maintains an armed security detail. On both Monday night's Hannity and Tuesday's Fox & Friends, Mattera was presented as a (LOL) credible "journalist" who was "bullied" by Bloomberg's guys. The fiction that the homophobic, chicken hawk Mattera is a "journalist" who was beset by ruffians was further advanced on Tuesday's "America's Newsroom," where alleged "news" host, Martha MacCallum gave him some sweet face time and lots of loving
A smiling MacCallum began by showing video which "shows a journalist tussling with security after repeatedly asking Mike Bloomberg to answer a tough question on gun control." After noting that Bloomberg is an anti-gun critic, she, with an even bigger smile, urged her viewers to watch Matter's laughable sting video in which Mattera asks Bloomberg if, "in the spirit of gun control, you will disarm your entire security team." Mattera, not a fan of the NYC ban on supersized soda, asked Bloomberg if he wanted a sip of his soda. The whole thing was pathetic - but not so for Martha who laughed as she said, "My, my, what an interesting stand off that was."
She warmly welcomed a smiling Mattera whom she described as "senior investigative reporter for talk radio network and a journalist and an author." The chyron reinforced Mattera's bogus creds: "Reporter Questions Use of Armed Security by Anti-Gun Lawmakers." With a big grin, she asked Mattera to explain the soda. As he joked about how his soda, due to its size, was illegal, MacCallum giggled. Mattera proclaimed that his was a "straightforward question" of whether Bloomberg will "lead by example" and disarm his security guard. To MacCallum question of the security guard "did" to Mattera, he claimed that they followed him and asked him to show an ID. When Mattera said that one guard asked him for his date of birth, an incredulous Martha said "he followed you a block away."
When MacCallum asked if he begrudged Bloomberg security, Mattera blithered about how if armed security is good for Bloomberg, a single mother in NY should have the same rights which include having the same number of rounds allowed for the police. MacCallum wondered what Bloomberg's answer would have been if he responded. Mattera blithered about Bloomberg's various policies regarding food and bike lanes that "cause congestion everywhere." Mattera speculated that Bloomberg's answer would have been "listen peasant, I know what's best for you..." MacCallum joked that the "big gulp" is good until March. When MacCallum said that you can have two sodas, Mattera said "there are loopholes." Martha just couldn't contain her laughter at that point and said "good stuff, very interesting, good to have you here."
Allow me to channel my inner Lewis Black - YOU CALL THIS A F*#KING FAIR & BALANCED NEWS SHOW?
It’s been a while since I got blocked from a Twitter feed for asking a Fox News host/personality/darling a question they didn’t want to answer (because that’s easier than “no comment”)…
Should I head over to this guy’s page?
