Kal Penn is developing a sitcom called “fair and balanced” about an NPR-type reporter who goes to work at a Fox News-type network.
From Deadline:
Harold & Kumar star Kal Penn is reuniting with the writers of the hit feature franchise, Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz, for Fair And Balanced, a single-camera comedy, which has been set up at ABC.
…The project will be informed by some of Penn’s real-life experiences appearing on various news shows as well as serving as correspondent for Vice News and spending two years in Washington as an associate director of the White House Office of Public Engagement and a member of President Obama’s National Arts Policy Committee.
This sounds very promising!

Billy’s character is a skirt-chasing man who thinks he is better than anyone in the newsroom. An egotistical man who wants things to run his way.
Hannocchio’s character is a street-hustling journalist who will say and do anything to score that exclusive interview. He values his broadcasting career more than his family. His neglected wife has the hots for another man who happens to be a musician.
Senior VP of programming, Shineman’s character spends most of his time in his office and at editorial meetings. He wants to keep his job, so he pressure the idiot producers to come up with sensational stories to keep the network number one.
The young, blonde bimbette associate producer’s character follows her star host like a love-sick puppy. Her job is to photograph the star host’s every move. She will do anything to keep him happy.
Hart’s character is a woman who’s secret romantic involvement with one of the network’s host causes chaos with senior executives.
Roggy is head of the news network. When he walks in the room boots shake. He treats his staff like a king treats his servants.
This should be an instant hit!
