Now that Breitbart acolyte Ben Shapiro’s Obama “race” and “radical” bombshells have – well, bombed – it appears that Shapiro has turned his America-hating hostilities into a book. And just as Sean Hannity gave Shapiro a friendly, unquestioning, credible airing for the ridiculous 1990 Obama-hug video, so was Shapiro welcomed on last night’s Hannity where he made the ridiculous claim that the right has been silenced by the left - and then urged his side to start fighting and ignore the Geneva Conventions. While demonstrating a breathtaking ignorance about what those Conventions say.
Wouldn’t you know? Shapiro is another GOP Special Victim. Poor widdle Shapiro calls the left “bullies” and whines about how their “culture of fear and intimidation silences America.” Just pay no attention to his prime time Fox News appearances. Or his boast about being a bestselling author and nationally syndicated columnist. It must be the prime time hosts like Hannity and Bill O’Reilly who are too intimidated to speak out about how they’ve been silenced.
Nevertheless, Shapiro revealed the “top five bullies working with the president.” “Endless,” Hannity sneered. Well, it takes one – or two or three – to know one, eh?
Shapiro sounded downright ignorant as he whined that having George Stephanopoulos on ABC would be akin to having Karl Rove as “the real anchor on a news program… It’s craziness.”
Oh, you mean like how Rove interrupted and interfered with Fox News’ coverage of the 2012 election? Or how he was presented as a neutral pundit to comment on a presidential debate? Either Shapiro was so busy nosing around ancient videos of Obama that he missed that or he thinks IOKIYAR.
Or he thought we'd be too stupid to notice. Shapiro went on to make the dubious accusation that the reason Mitt Romney lost is because of “the race card, the sex card and the class warfare card.” Nice to know you think your country is a bunch of dupes, Ben!
Hannity put on his phony-baloney sincere face and said he thought Shapiro was “making really valid points,” and asked “How would you counter it?”
Shapiro’s answer would have bone chilling if I thought he’d have any more success than he did with his “Look Who Obama Hugged In Law School!” video.
We can’t be civil with them. We can’t… We have reached the end of bipartisanship. We’ve reached the end of civility. It’s like the Geneva Conventions? These people are out of uniform. Once they exit the realm of civility, they are now fair game. And it’s enough playing fair with them. It’s enough having the moral high ground. We’ve had the moral high ground. It means that we lose. We need to start fighting back and fighting back hard.
Yes, our little armchair general is mustering his troops and beating his chest – and not mentioning that he has yet to spend a single day doing any real fighting for our country.
Oh, and Ben? If you knew anything about the Geneva Conventions, you’d know that it’s when people are out of uniform that the rules apply. Or are you likening your fellow Americans to Al Qaeda-like terrorists?
