It’s one thing to support Israel and criticize the Obama administration’s policies but it’s quite another for Democrat Dov Hikind to do so on Fox News, an organization that would be trashing him if it wasn’t using him to promote its divisive, partisan agenda.
On yesterday’s Yoyr World, New York State Democratic Assemblyman Hikind sounded like a typical Fox News pundit when he said, “I love America, this is the greatest country in the world – but this administration is out of control. If you are a friend of America, you are the enemy. That’s how you’re treated by Washington, by Kerry, and by the President. The United States says, ‘Israel you may defend yourself,’ but then they tie Israel’s hands. It is just outrageous. It’s unacceptable.”
Host Neil Cavuto asked if Secretary Kerry “tipped his hand when, apparently in an off-mic comment, he said this is going beyond pinpointing?”
“Absolutely. He told us how he really feels,” Hikind said.
Cavuto also asked if Hikind agreed that Israel’s strikes had gone “beyond pinpointing.”
“Israel tries to do whatever it can to protect civilians, but when Hamas, the terrorist organization, puts its weapons, its missiles right between the people, the civilians, what are you supposed to do?” Hikind replied. “What would America do if missiles were falling on New York, New Jersey, Tulsa, Oklahoma, all over America? …Would someone urge restraint?”
Hikind continued with words that surely must have warmed Karl Rove’s heart: “The idea that our government, the Obama administration with Kerry, who are they talking to? They’re dealing with Qatar. Qatar is the new friend of America. …It’s a joke of a country. …They supply the money for Hamas to build the tunnels. They supply the money for the weapons.”
When Cavuto asked about a ceasefire, Hikind replied “Oh, God forbid!” He added, “This administration is an absolute disaster. The record of this administration, it’s out of control. Everywhere in the world, they have no clue.”
Cavuto should have asked what’s so bad about peace and a ceasefire, but didn’t.
One other thing Cavuto didn’t mention? Hikind is in a bit of ethical hot water heading into a September primary.
