A very important Fox message is that Hollywood is full of treasonous celebs who have the unmitigated gall to stand up for their liberal principals. But in yet another stunning example of Fox hypocrisy, it seems that they have no problem with right wing Hollywood has-beens or wannabees promoting the gospel according to the Fox/right wing!
Saturday's Fox & Friends began with part of a new Hillary Clinton ad which features Hollywood notables who are promoting the Clinton candidacy. The banner: "Hollywood Behind Hillary, Celebrities Star in Anti-Trump ad." After the video, Tucker Carlson audibly gagged. He then introduced D-list celeb, former game show host, current podcast host, and right wing partisan Chuck Woolery. As if he needed a reason to vote GOP, Carlson said that this ad makes him "just want to vote big orange in November." Wise political pundit that he is (not), he asserted that "this [ad] is going to have a counter-effect."
Woolery immediately dove into the requisite right wing talking points: "When the cultural Marxists of Hollywood get together, in their sheep pen... it’s like they all follow each other because they’re afraid to do anything else." Woolery said that he wasn't familiar with the actors, although he knows "the culture." (Chuck Woolery is NOT a big name - however, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Randall Park, Julienne Moore, Neil Patrick Harris - to name a few of the video stars - are familiar names!)
Abby Huntsman suggested that undecided voters might, after seeing the ad, vote for Trump to prove the point that Hollywood is in the tank for Hillary. Working in Fox's anti-PC meme, Woolery said that there is now "a massive backlash against this PC." His riff got a little strange when he blamed PC on "the Frankfurt school," a philosophy, according to Woolery, that was "picked up" by - wait for it - Karl Marx.
Wannabe historian Woolery, who doesn't appear to have gone to college, continued his history lecture which included the claim that those who follow this nefarious belief system have infiltrated Columbia University. He declared that "the enemy is cultural Marxism." After more weird history, he actually proclaimed that he is a historian.
Woolery is so perfect for Fox News. He once tweeted a bogus right wing rumor that President Obama was planning on shooting down Israeli jets. He proudly proclaimed that "the right to bear arms is the last form of defense against tyranny." He thinks that the AARP is a sleeper cell for the Democratic Party. Most recently, he attacked actor Matt Damon for expressing, during a commencement speech, the need to raise the minimum wage - something that Woolery opposes. Anyway...
Here's the thing - when entertainers publicly opposed the Iraq War, they were told to "shut up and sing." This bizarro world Chuck Woolery lecture makes it abundantly clear that he should just shut up!!!
