In his ongoing quest to look out for the "folks," Bill O'Reilly has endorsed the idea of drug testing those "parasites" who are on welfare. As an omniscient being, he knows that "there's a lot of fraud in welfare all over the place and there are a lot of drug-addicted and alcoholic people getting money and spending it on drugs and alcohol." He objects to "his tax dollars going to drunkards and drug addicts." But O'Reilly isn't alone in his thinking. In September, GOP US Rep. Trey Radel voted for GOP legislation that would have forced food stamp recipients to take a drug test in order to maintain eligibility. Just one month later, the anti-drug Florida teabagger got himself busted for buying cocaine. He pleaded guilty and acknowledged that he has an alcohol problem. But he will seek counseling so it's all good...But wait...
It appears that this wasn't just an isolated incident. "According to prosecutors, confidential sources told authorities that Radel had purchased cocaine "on several occasions" for his own use, and "on occasion" would share that cocaine with others." (Didn't think that Republicans believed in redistribution!) While Radel could have been sentenced to 180 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine, he received, as part of a plea deal between his lawyers and federal prosecutors, probation. If Radel "successfully completes the probation," the guilty plea will be cleared. The judge noted that Radel is a first time offender "and probation gives Radel and others like him an opportunity 'to prove themselves'." (Do ya think that a young African-American man, in the same situation, would have been as fortunate?)
Radel is one of 538 members of Congress who are, like those receiving those nasty un-American entitlements, living on the public largesse which includes Bill O'Reilly's tax dollars. Their salaries and benefits aren't chump change. So should they be forced to pee in a cup so that American taxpayers can be assured that their money isn't being spent on drugs and alcohol?
What say you, Bill O'Reilly?
Gay or straight,
Education is great!
We endorse drug testing the Fox “News” frauds. Don’t you agree, Billy?
