The newest Fox News attack line is their suggestion that the Democrats have insulted "God" by dropping the deity from their platform while the holy rolling Republicans mention "God" twelve times. So when Fox & Friends (Jesus' very own morning show) gets a meme (introduced by Fox "newsman, Bret Baier), they run with it. Not only did Steve Doocy bring up the God dropping during a panel discusion; but the whole crew talked to GOP veep candidate Paul Ryan about it. Ryan is so godly that he has no problem making up stuff about his supposed marathon record and his Fox & Friends appearance suggests that he has no problem bearing Fox's false witness. Oh, God....
Uber Christian warrior princess, Gretchen Carlson, was able to work in her particular bête noire about "political correctness" with her question about whether this sacrilegious Democratic sin of omission reflects "the politically correct influence to take the word God now" (she scrunched up her pretty face) "out of the platform." Of course, Gretch didn't mention that in some past years, the Dems mentioned "God" more than the GOP or that there's lots of stuff about faith in the platform. Ryan responded that it was "peculiar" as "it's not in keeping with our founding documents, our founding vision." He "guessed" that "you’d have to ask the Obama administration why they purged all this language from their platform — there sure is a lot of mention of government.” (Don't ya love it when Paul talks Randy to us!). The Fox instructional chyron was the one about Democrats "losing their religion."
In order to remind their Jewish and evangelical viewers about why they shouldn't vote for Obama, Brian Kilmeade noted the elimination of Jerusalem related references in the platform. Ryan responded that this omission is "tragic" and how this drives a "wedge" into the few issues on which Democrats and the GOP can agree.
Doocy, as he did in the other statement, claimed that this mortal sin of omission is a "messaging problem" (and Fox News is there to help out with that!) because instead of talking about Michelle Obama's speech, they're talking about "why they left God out." Ryan pivoted back to Israel and how this sends the wrong message. He articulated the Christian right wing belief about how, in "the founding vision of America" (Hey Paul, no mention of "God" in the Constitution), our rights come from nature and "God" and not government. (Hmmm, wasn't his muse, Ayn Rand, an atheist?) The chyron asked where God went. Ryan expressed disappointment about the removal of this language that represents what our veterans fight for. (Guess Paul doesn't know that there are atheists in the military?)
God damn those Democrats?
And BTW, I guess Gretch is fine with the GOP platform that says that if she gets raped, she gets to be a mommy!
The Malkin token non-blond barbie I’m seeing and hearing on F&F has a voice that would compete well with a saw mill in action. Whew! Am I glad when she shuts up!
