Bill O'Reilly & Greta Van Susteren Are Being Sued By NY Business Owner

Posted by Priscilla 0.80pc on August 09, 2012 · Flag

Looks like Bill O'Reilly needs to lawyer up again. Both he and Greta Van Susteren face a lawsuit from the owner of the NY based "Drum Cafe," Aviva Nash, for what she feels is their portrayal of her as a con artist who steals from taxpayers. Her allegations of defamation of character and emotional distress are based on segments, done by the aforementioned hosts, during which they bashed the GSA for ceremony expenses which included drumsticks provided by Nash's company. While neither host mentioned Nash by name, they showed conference footage of Ms. Nash and her group. *O'Reilly's news correspondent for the piece, Juliette Huddy (also a defendant), described her as "hippy dippy" and after showing the same footage, Van Susteren said that the drum exercise was "insane" and that the expenses of the conference amount to stealing. As such, Ms. Nash claims that Van Susteren suggested that Nash was running a con. She also alleges that she has lost business as a result of Fox's exposure.  And so it goes...

*Correction: I originally identified O'Reilly as the source of the "hippy dippie" statement. It was Juliette Huddy.

To Priscilla, when you wrote "*Correction: I originally identified O’Reilly as the source of the “hippy dippie” statement. It was Juliette Huddy.", I’m not seeing where that correction is needed. If Huddy was working for O’Reilly as you note in your (apparently) corrected line “O’Reilly’s news correspondent for the piece, Juliette Huddy (also a defendant),” then O’Reilly, as Huddy’s EMPLOYER, is just as guilty for the “hippy dippy” statement as if he’d said it himself. ESPECIALLY under FoxNoise’s own “rules of complicity.” We’ve all seen how FoxNoise holds Obama PERSONALLY accountable for an underling’s comments even when the underling is speaking off-the-cuff in a live setting (like a press conference). So, if FoxNoise can expect Obama to be held accountable for something one of “his people” says, then it’s only “fair” that FoxNoise hold itself to the same standard. (I know, I know. This is FoxNoise. They have one set of standards for themselves and their “favorite” con-servatives and a different set of standards for others to follow.)

I wish Nash all the best in her lawsuit. I hope she wins.

Wrinkled Rupert, Jabba T. Ailes and their minions have in the past argued that the First Amendment gives Fux Noise the absolute right to lie and distort the news. Nonetheless, I hope that Nash extracts a Mackris-size settlement from these frauds.

The two most “trusted” names on FNC are the worst of the worst of the right wing shills. Dunno if the lawsuit has legs or not. Don’t care. But the Bill and Greta one two is a slime attack, perpetrated by two of the best in slime-slinging.

Come to think of it. Don’t these types of lawsuits require depositions by both parties before the case moves on? And can’t you ask ANY questions you want, weather or not it has anything to do with the actual case being adjudicated, in a deposition (see Bill Clinton January 17, 1998)? Well If I am allowed to submit a list of questions to be answered ‘under oath’ by O’Liellee I will also attach, a crisp new $100 bill to the list. I’m thinking this might be a great fundraising strategy. At $25 a question, and with the number of people asking the same question, they could make a fortune. Why, just the “Mr. O’rielly, you were supposedly a school teacher and yet you said on your show that the tides cannot be explained by science. Are you actually THAT FUCKIN STUPID?” question would rake in a couple of thousand bucks alone.

Is there a legal defense fund I can contribute to for the plaintiff? I’m willing to give up a 12 packs worth of cash to fund this lawsuit.
