No, he didn’t say “wiretapped” but Senator Rand Paul announced on Fox News that he thinks the Obama administration spied on him. And even though Paul made it clear he has no evidence of it, Sean Hannity was already salivating to lock up President Obama and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
PAUL: We’ve been hearing rumors and anonymous sources have been telling us for a couple of months now that they believe that the Obama administration was spying on other presidential candidates other than Trump and that it may be politically motivated. I don’t have the evidence. I haven’t seen the evidence but I have requested it. I’ve asked the White House to look into it and I’ve asked both of the intelligence committees.
[…] I have made formal, written request to find out if the Obama administration did, indeed, spy on me.
Do you think Paul's salacious speculation has anything to do with the fact that Rand Paul is thinking of running for president in 2020?
Hannity didn’t bring it up, of course. Heck, he didn't even care that Paul had no evidence yet.
“Senator, this is deep and profound!” Hannity declared. “We’re talking about trampling on Fourth Amendment Constitutional rights here!” He sounded more delighted than sad. “Wouldn’t it mean that Brennan, Clapper, Rice, Jarrett, Rhodes and maybe the president could have broken laws if they did this for political purposes, sir? This is an important question!”
It’s also a dishonestly self-serving one given that Hannity doesn’t know that it was done at all, much less why.
“Absolutely,” Paul agreed. “We’ve had trouble with Clapper before. Clapper was the one that came to the Senate and lied, under oath.” But, he added, “There’s a lot of people who want to sweep this under the rug.”
“Tell me who those Republicans are off air and we’ll be sure to bring them on, too,” Hannity threatened.

As to why Rand Paul is doing this, all I have to say is playing the eternal victim, in the face of all the facts, actually worked for the Donald. Not much else he could do to get his face on the news.
