Fox News waited more than hour to report the news that Hillary Clinton had clinched the Democratic presidential nomination last night. “Straight news anchor” Megyn Kelly immediately followed her brief announcement with two segments obviously designed to malign Clinton.
AP reported that Clinton had enough delegates to secure the nomination last night at 8:20 PM ET.
Fox News didn’t break the news until 6:43 PT, 9:43 ET, more than an hour later.
Here's another view of that time stamp. Notice how within the same minute, Fox had already moved on to its first anti-Hillary story:
Fox piggy backed the news onto an anti-Clinton story rerun from Special Report, earlier in the night. To give you a hint about it, one of the lower-third banners read: FORMER SECRET SERVICE AGENT FOR PRES CLINTON DESCRIBES HILLARY CLINTON AS ERRATIC, VIOLENT.
And after that? Another anti-Clinton story about her emails.
Do you think Fox deliberately waited to break the news so that they could “balance” it with some anti-Hillary propaganda? I report, you decide.
Watch it below, from the June 6 The Kelly File.
Also, even though the show before, The O’Reilly Factor, was pre-recorded, Fox could have briefly interrupted with a breaking news item.
