As part of its valiant effort to advance the anti-choice right wing's war on women's reproductive choice, the "fair & balanced" Fox News website has had no problem attacking Planned Parenthood with anti-choice lies. And just when you thought that they couldn't go any lower, they go there.
The headline is "Planned Parenthood Faces Probe After Vid Shows It Deals In Aborted Fetuses." The "vid" that is referenced is a video done by a sketchy group, The Center for Medical Progress, which purports to show that a Planned Parenthood worker is doing something shady when, in reality, she is merely discussing, with actors posing as bio-tech reps, donation of fetal tissue- not fetuses - something that is perfectly legal and done routinely.
The "vid" doesn't show jack. As documented on Media Matters, the video for public consumption is highly edited and the full version demonstrates that there was nothing illegal discussed. The version being pimped by Fox doesn't include comments, from the Planned Parenthood employee, about how the tissue samples are used for medical research (the polio vaccine was made with fetal tissue) and obtained with the patient's consent.
So Fox News is lying. The "vid," made by a sketchy, agenda driven group headed by David Daleiden (who worked with Lila Rose and who is a pal of James O'Keefe) doesn't "show" that Planned Parenthood "deals in aborted fetuses" but, rather, that Planned Parenthood deals, legally, with tissue from aborted fetuses.
But hey, who needs facts when you're pimping anti-choice propaganda which the "fair & balanced" Fox News will provide by any means necessary!
