Fox News legal analyst Arthur Aidala, also a criminal law attorney, shot down his cohosts' obvious hope that Hillary Clinton will soon be indicted. Not one of them seemed willing to acknowledge that maybe there is no criminal case to be made against her.
Aidala seemed to put his criminal law perspective above politics, a refreshing change from the usual Fox News punditry.
AIDALE: If I was Hillary Clinton’s lawyer, if she hired me, I would be on the loudest podium I could be at and I would say, “Listen, it’s time to fish or cut bait. Either come here and tell me I committed a crime or tell me that I didn’t commit a crime. What you’re doing to everyone, to the American people, is just wrong.”
And I have a personal feeling about it, not relating to Hillary Clinton, but the feds do this all the time. …They leave you hanging out there.
“Why do they do that?” cohost Harris Faulkner cut in, not very happily. “They’re waiting for you to make a mistake!”
AIDALA: Which means they don’t have enough. Because when they have enough, they pounce. When they don’t have enough, then they have to wait for you to make a mistake.
“They have a lot more than they had, though,” Faulkner said hopefully.
Cohost Meghan McCain said that there’s no doubt in her mind that Hillary Clinton has “done something highly illegal” and asked how to make that known to the public.
Aidala said that the FBI’s non-partisan director, James Comey, is the one who can do that by presenting his material to the attorney general and asking her to put it before a grand jury. “Our limited understanding is that has not happened and usually, Meghan, that hasn’t happened because they’re not confident enough that they got it,” Aidala continued. “The feds, unlike the state government, they won’t bring a case unless they are a hundred percent sure they got it.”
Not one of the four cohosts seemed happy about that news.
Watch it below, from the June 2 Outnumbered.
That Fox Legal Analyst becomes an “Ex-Fox Legal Analyst” . . .
.
He was a man of no integrity or honor, a man who delighted in wreaking personal destruction on people who had done nothing to deserve it. Which he knew.
Hawww! Haww! Haw!
I hope I did that as good as Ken Curtis in “The Searchers”.
Ken Starr should occupy the 9th level of Hell!!!
In the ’90s the RW media routinely threw out totally baseless accusations, because truth (and the electoral process) meant nothing to them. And these bozos are just the latest iteration: I love the one who said that Hillary was absolutely guilty, but begged Aidala to tell him what that might be. “Verdict first! Trial after.” These cretins are part of an old, and totally loathsome, institution, propaganda.
No, the Foxies claim it’s she took the unusual step to use her own server for added control. She should have used the official secure State email server. The one we know was hacked. 👍
I like Aidala’s advice Hillary’s lawyers should tell Justice to piss or get off the pot. All these resources going into this fishing expedition. Aren’t there some really serious criminals to investigate?
