At the end of a discussion about pending Supreme Court rulings, Bill O’Reilly announced, “I should be on the Supreme Court.”
To be fair, O’Reilly was mostly kidding. But clearly, there was a part of him that wasn’t.
From Media Matters:
BILL O'REILLY (HOST): So, you know where I'm voting if I'm on the Supreme Court. I think after the Factor, I should be on the Supreme Court.
KIMBERLY GUILFOYLE: Really?
O'REILLY: You don't have to be a lawyer to be on it. You don't.
GUILFOYLE: Ask Trump.
O'REILLY: I'd be very fair and balanced.
To be fair, O’Reilly was mostly kidding. But there was clearly a part of him that wasn’t.
Watch it below, from the June 21 The O'Reilly Factor.

Nothing unusual here. Like Trump, O’Reilly always thinks he’s the smartest man in the room, and when it comes to legal matters, he’s blissfully unaware of his ignorance. He’d be far worse than Scalia. He’s said many times that Ruth Bader Ginsburg doesn’t simply have a different judicial philosophy than the conservatives justices, but that she just doesn’t care about the constitution, so she just makes stuff up to suit her prejudice.

A possible appointment to the SCOTUS, eh? I’ve been wondering why BOR has laughably placed himself in an advisory position to Trump in his POTUS run. Sure, they are milkshake pals but even BOR has to know that Trump isn’t qualified to be President. I’ve thought all along that there has to be a quid pro quo somewhere in there for BOR’s highly visible support for Trump – so is this it? LOL!
Okay, yeah, surely BOR is only half serious that Trump might consider him for the SCOTUS. But I have no doubt that in his uber-egomaniacal mind, BOR actually believes that he would make a good judge. After all, he loves dropping judgements on others (as per his own ideology/biases, of course). Being on SCOTUS would be the ultimate power trip for him especially since he so desperately desires to affect the political and social culture of America. Bwaaah!

The lack of Television Cameras would be a deal breaker for The Narcissistic Junior O’Reilly. Though three Liberal Female Justices, and more steps then his Manhasset Mansion has to be tempting for Junior.

This fly needs to be swatted right away. Somebody who is so full of bile, bullshit and of himself should not come within a hundred miles of the bench.
He’s chuckling about this, but if Trump was in the White House and there was a vacancy on the bench, BOR would be as serious as a heart attack.

Yes, O’Reilly should be on the Supreme Court because of his political independence, lack of bias (he’s a ‘no-spin guy’), and open-mindedness. Not to mention his lack of training in the law makes him at least as qualified to sit on America’s highest bench as his milkshake sharing BFF is qualified being president. Today is April Fool’s Day, no? Oops… I’m late. My bad!
What I find most interesting about many of the recent Newshounds clips of GOP TV is the lack of diverse of thought.
Sure, FOX has always been a ridiculous propaganda factory where, say, “Outnumbered” would only have 1 lib on the panel or O’Reilly with all the advantages would pound on some lonely lib (often with the help of another conservative panelist). But at least there was some (typically weak) lib to at least put up the pretense of diverse thought. Now that’s not even on the table. It’s all hardline right-wingers sitting inside the bubble jerking each other off.

I find it frankly offensive that O’Reilly can even joke about the Supreme Court after the behavior the GOP has indulged in this year. The reality is that we have an 8 member court due to no other reason than the right wing’s uncontrollable hatred for the current President. We’re talking about GOP Senators who refuse to even hold a hearing for or meet with a nominee, out of sheer spite.
It is that reason above many others that makes it vital for Donald Trump to be soundly renounced by the electorate this fall. The right wing cannot be allowed to get away with this game.

Billy rather be with Trumpster than Nixon Trainee Ailes. It’s time to end Billy’s contract with Fox and let him go with Trumpster.

Nah…….we all know he’d never agree to such a massive pay cut.
Associate Justices only make $244,400 a year, (Roberts would never agree to give up being Chief Justice.)
Also, I doubt that even the most right-wing Senators would give an O’Reilly nomination much serious consideration; O’Reilly’s currently 67 years old which would automatically make him the 5th oldest justice (Ginsburg is currently the oldest at 83, followed by Kennedy at 80, Breyer at 78 and Thomas at 68*) Lewis Powell was the oldest appointee since WW2 at the age of 64 (he was actually the third Justice in a row who was over 60 at the time of his appointment) and he only served 15 years before retiring (he lived another 11 years following his retirement).
*The ages may not be exact; they’re derived from their birth year, without checking the specific dates of each (IOW, Thomas was born in 1948; if Thomas was born before June 21, then he would be 68 but if he was born after June 22, then he’d only be 67).
