Radical Conservative Claims That Proponents of Sex Education Want Kids to Get STDs in Order to Advance the Abortion Agenda
There are some people in this country who are are so blinded by their belief in the abstinence agenda that they have left the world of reality and entered a state of delusion. That's the only way to describe Concerned Women for America President, Wendy Wright, who appeared on the December 31st edition of Special Report. Miss Wright, in all seriousness, said this about those who support comprehensive sex ed in the schools: "In fact, they want to encourage [kids to choose to have sex] because they benefit when kids end up having sexually transmitted diseases, unintended pregnancies and then they lead them into having abortions, so you have to look at the financial motives behind those who are promoting comprehensive sex ed." Islam Not Welcome in Hannity’s America
Note: Guest blogged by Priscilla
As has been noted in numerous News Hounds threads, Sean Hannity is very hostile to numerous groups and ideas – prominent among them Islam and public education. In the November 18th edition of “Hannity’s America,” Hannity was able to bash both of the aforementioned categories. He was also able to work in the ever popular Fox “fear factor” as he introduced his piece by stating that a “radical Islamic agenda is infiltrating public schools all across the nation and targeting our kids.” He spoke in apocalyptic terms when he declared that “there is a battle reaching the boiling point in California. Parents are taking a stand and fighting back.” In an “us vs them” (very popular with the conservative right wing and Fox News) metaphor he asserted that it’s “smalltown USA vs. Islamic indoctrination.”

Fox News Live – Fox News Lite
Note: Guest blogged by Priscilla
In what, in my opinion, has to be the most excruciating three hour block of “news,” on any network, Fox now has Saturday Fox News Live. Yesterday (October 20th) it ran from 4PM to 7PM EDT and in the process, pre-empted both the Beltway Boys and Fox News Watch which, according to the FOX News website, have been moved to the 2-3PM block on Saturday and the 2-3AM block on Sunday. (Comment: So the Beltway Boys are no longer prime time?!) As I noted last week, Fox News Live consists of four “new anchors” (and I use the term loosely) reading brief snippets of news (repeated during the three hours) followed by brief banter.

Censorship 101: How to Muzzle Opposition and Keep Your Viewers in the Dark
After watching FOX News for three years, I've decided that David Asman is not a nice person. Perpetually overwrought, with a fake sunny disposition, he will do whatever his corporate bosses tell him to do, then turn around and wrap himself in the flag or the bible, whichever will net him the most brownie points in the FOX News boardroom. Yesterday he substituted for Neil Cavuto. During a discussion of the value of tenure in America's universities, Asman engaged in a systematic, premeditated act of censorship using interruption, favoritism and misdirection. It was obvious to anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear that Asman was under orders not to let Temple University Professor Marc Lamont Hill complete a sentence or make a cogent point. Yet, Asman fell all over himself to allow Joe McCarthy clone, David Horowtiz, to spew his anti-tenure swill. With video.

FOX News Bigotry: It’s Not Just For Sean Hannity Any More
David Horowitz, whose Center for the Study of Popular Culture was listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as one of 17 right-wing foundations and think tanks supporting efforts to make bigoted and discredited ideas respectable, joined Hannity & Colmes last night (1/17/06) to speak – shout, really – about the anti-white bias at Duke University. Horowitz was up in arms that 88 faculty members of Duke had posted an open letter to the Duke community reiterating their concern about racism and sexism on campus. Horowitz called them a “lynch mob” and worse. With video.
