Hannity Really Shouldn’t Throw Stones Comparing Charles Rangel To Tom DeLay
Sean Hannity crowed about what he obviously thought was a big gotcha on Nancy Pelosi regarding Charles Rangel a few nights ago. Hannity played a series of clips of her condemning Tom DeLay but not condemning Rangel, as though their offenses and ethical violations were at all comparable. But Hannity didn’t seem to realize he was putting on display his own hypocrisy, much larger than anything he had accused Pelosi of exhibiting. Somehow Hannity “forgot” (or maybe he counted on his audience forgetting) that while he was condemning Rangel, he had repeatedly treated DeLay as an upstanding citizen. DeLay had once been booked as an expert on Congressional ethics even after he had been indicted for, essentially, money laundering. With video.

In Debate About Lack Of Political Balance On Campuses, Hannity & Colmes Shuts Out Opposing Views
Sean Hannity, still sulking that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had been allowed to speak at Columbia, was full of outrage that former Congressman Tom DeLay had been denied a speaking engagement at Seton Hall University. Without bothering to consult anyone at Seton Hall, Hannity declared that the reason was liberal bias against conservatives. He, his two conservative guests and substitute co-host Kirsten Powers were unanimous in their condemnation of the intolerance of liberals for opposing points of view. Meanwhile, none of them seemed to mind that opposing views had just been shut out of that very discussion. With video.

Tom DeLay Reprises FOX News Role As Expert On Congressional Ethics
I thought my mouth would drop on the floor when I saw Tom DeLay introduced as the lone expert on last night’s (8/30/07) Hannity & Colmes to discuss Senator Larry Craig’s bathroom scandal. But the only thing more shocking was that it was at least his second appearance in that role on FOX News that day. With video.

Fox Brings on Tom DeLay, That's Right, Tom DeLay, to Talk About the GOP's "Swift" Response to Scandal
Fox News again took its audience for total idiots today (August 30, 2007) when it asked Tom DeLay to come on to talk about how "Republicans act swiftly, unlike Democrats" when it comes to dealing with scandal. Delay, a former member of the House of Representatives, was indicted by two Texas grand juries in the fall of 2005 but he didn't leave office until April, 2006. How that makes him an authority on dealing swiftly with scandal is beyond me.
