O’Reilly Should Apologize to Rape Survivors; Gets Worst Person for Four Straight Nights.

Keith Olbermann made it four in a row for Billo last night (3/5/09) on Countdown as he awarded Worst Person silver to the Bloviator for his intention to address the rape survivors support group It Happened to Alexa on March 19th. However, as predicted, the Foundation itself is starting to feel the heat as the rhetoric ratchets up, and the ire of Olbermann and some rape survivors and their supporters begins to turn in its direction. This unfortunate but probably inevitable development has also brought the anti-Olbermann obsessives out of their holes, and they are now attempting to politicize this issue for their own ends.Video and special commentary after the jump.

Olbermann Slams O’Reilly Three Days In A Row Over Scheduled Speech To Rape Victim Support Group

On last night’s Countdown Keith Olbermann slammed Bill O’Reilly for the third time over the hypocrisy of his upcoming speech to the It Happened to Alexa Foundation scheduled for March 19th. This time Olbermann highlighted the online petition by the ad hoc group Concerned Citizens Against Sexual Violence, which asks the foundation to replace O'Reilly with another speaker. He also read out the apparently stock reply that the Foundation has been sending people who contact them by email - that O’Reilly is “speaking about his new book, not about rape victims”. As Olbermann pointed out, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. with video

It Happened to Alexa, Support Group For Rape Victims, Stands Over O'Reilly Invite

On MSNBC's Countdown last night (3/3/09) Keith Olbermann once again highlighted the fact that alleged sexual harasser, victim-blamer and all-around sexist Bill O'Reilly is to appear as the keynote speaker at a Florida luncheon to be held by the NY-based rape survivors support group, It Happened to Alexa Foundation. More disturbing is the fact that the Foundation are standing over their decision to invite him. O'Reilly Radio Factor going off the air next year

Thank god for small favors. O'Reilly has announced that, due to an unsustainable work schedule, he will discontinue his daily talk radio program and devote himself full-time to the television O'Reilly Factor. O'Reilly's radio show ranked 13th in the country (in a 3-way tie for ninth, following three two-way ties 'above' him) , drawing 1/4 of Rush Limbaugh's audience.

Bill O'Reilly Saves Face By Humiliating Scott McClellan

Bill O'Reilly has been focused on damage control since Scott McClellan told Chris Matthews that the White House fed FOX News talking points and dared to confirm that O'Reilly and Hannity were recipients. Yesterday, O'Reilly was in the low key denial phase but today he went on the attack. An early morning smear fest on Fox & Friends was followed with a face to face, verbal thrashing and humiliation on his radio show. Finally, tonight BOR got his groove back by repeating McClellan's embarrassing radio apology for his Factor viewers. Hopefully, a bare backed public caning on the sidewalk outside FOX News won't be necessary.
