The Hannity show was live tonight with coverage of President Heel Spur’s (illegal) missile launch against Syria. But someone forgot to notify Sean Hannity’s Twitter feed. Because if you were not watching Fox, you might think he spent a lot of time talking about Susan Rice (again).
Check it out below.

Let’s not forget that Obama wanted to do something similar in 2013 and that his request for authorisation was rejected by a GOP-dominated Congress hell bent on opposing anything he proposed. Not surprising to learn that some former Obama administration officials remain convinced that a reaction was justified.
What gets my goat is that the very people who’d opposed an attack in 2013 are eager to blame Obama, individually, for having wanted to comply with the principles laid down in the Constitution and law. As there was no imminent threat to the USA, he felt he needed to consult Congress. The GOP double standard at work.
To my mind, chemical weapons are not significantly different from any other sort of indiscriminate weaponry (e.g. like bombs or those AK whatevers that are so often used by mass murderers in the USA). IMHO, there’s no way to construe the use of such weaponry over 10,000 km away as an imminent and direct threat to the USA. President Trump was, therefore, legally required to involve Congress (and this Congress would have said yes, also because the Dems are not as good as the GOP at practising blind partisanship).
The Founding Fathers did not want it to be too easy for the President to undertake war-like actions. That’s why they designed the balance of powers system in the first place, and some later administration decided it was important also to require retired/former military fellas to wait 7 years before being involved in government. We’ve seen how the Trump Administration is handling that (much like it is keeping the big banks like Goldman Sachs out of Government).
However, methinks the true justification for the strike was President Trump’s falling approval ratings. Throughout history, tyrants and dictators have resorted to war as a way to get people’s minds off the real issues at home.
Just imagine what the reaction would have been had Hillary been President? Hypocrisy writ large.
What’s troubling is did he tell the Russians before Congress?
NPR “Morning Edition” points out even former Obama administration officials disappointed by Obama’s red line threat being totally hollow actually are encouraged by Trump.
All that said, the problem with Trump is, despite lies to the contrary, he has no plan nor a clue about Syria. The idiot holds the ignorant opinion Russia is our ally in Syria battling ISIS. No, Russia is propping up Assad and has on balance mostly helped ISIS by crushing opposing rebel groups like the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
NPR points out just last week neofascist bastard Trump was talking about allying with the bloody monster Assad to fight ISIS. Further, Liar-In-Chief Trump repeatedly attacked Obama for telegraphing military moves as “stupid@. So what does ”tweet-url hashtag" href=“https://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23OrangeHitler” title=“#OrangeHitler”>#OrangeHitler do? He tells Assad ally Russia of our plans.
Trump is doing what he always does: emotionally react. Trump wants to look strong. Maybe he really does care about civilian deaths though it’s hard to believe given he’s relaxing our rules of engagement to increase them.
Meanwhile Syria is a sovereign nation, not some rebel group, so attacking them is an act of war.
Without a coherent plan nothing good will come out of this and much bad could. For example, Syrian ally Iran could sponsor stepped up terrorist attacks.
