Does Glenn Beck Steal Material? Beck Says No. Those He [Allegedly] Stole From Say Yes.
Now that Glenn Beck is “transitioning” away from his elevated perch on the Fox “News” Channel, it would seem that he’s now Fair Game. Mind you, he’s always been fair game for people who think. However, now that there’s blood in the water Conservative bloggers are circling. They now see him as the bloviating charlatan he really is. What’s more, they no longer want to remain silent about it and are telling the world, or at least those who read Daily Caller, that Glenn Beck lifts material wholesale without attribution. There have always been rumors Beck was stealing some of his wacky conspiracy theories from Alex Jones. Even Alex Jones thinks so. However, as Mathew Boyle of The Daily Caller has found, it’s not just Jones being ripped off. Many Conservative bloggers have told DC how he purloins their material, even to the point of delivering it word for word, or showing entire videos, without attribution. What’s more, these Conservatives are doing it for attribution, on the record.

O'Reilly And Goldberg Sneer About MSNBC Departure Of He Who Shall Not Be Named (Keith Olbermann)
If you thought Bill O’Reilly might be gracious in the wake of Keith Olbermann’s sudden departure from MSNBC last Friday, you were wrong. Monday night (1/24/11), O’Reilly claimed lack of interest, made a big deal out of the fact that Fox News’ ratings are so much higher than MSNBC’s, asserted that nobody really cared about Olbermann leaving such an insignificant network, and accused that part of the media that thought it an important story of doing “anything they can to save” the liberal, dying print media. How doing that would save the print media, O’Reilly never explained. But he did spend an entire segment on this, all the while refusing to refer to Olbermann by name. Yeah, I’m convinced O’Reilly found it a non-story, how about you?

Glenn Beck Hearts The Internet -- But Not News Hounds!
Glenn Beck went on a tear about the internet on Monday (5/10/10) that I think purported to present YouTube videos as the standard bearers for truth in a world dominated by mainstream media liars. Glenn Beck excepted, of course. But somehow the largest, most consistent thread in the show, at least as far as the Fox News “rush transcript” indicates, was Beck, himself, the big victim in a world of media and online untruths. So imagine my surprise and delight when I found that News Hounds and one of my own posts were held up as one of Beck’s transgressors. With video.

Megyn Kelly’s Blatantly Biased Discussion Of Net Neutrality
Megyn Kelly’s America Live show is supposedly within that Fox News period of “objective news shows,” as opposed to “opinion shows” (America Live airs from 1-3PM ET each weekday). But Kelly’s bias against net neutrality could not have been any more unmistakable and deliberate as she hosted what purported to be a “fair and balanced” debate on the subject. Yeah, fair and balanced if you don’t count the anti-net neutrality comments of the host all the way through, her repeatedly antagonistic interruptions of pro-net neutrality guest Josh Silver, of Free Press, and the extra air time she gave his opponent to speak without interruption. With video.

Tell The FCC: Support Net Neutrality
For those who love the level playing field now on the internet, it's crucial for your voice to be heard now.
As you may know, the FCC has proposed rules to prevent big telecoms from providing "fast lanes" for certain preferred sites and slowing down or blocking sites from their competitors. The big phone and cable companies are spending hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying Congress and the Federal Communications Commission to gut Net Neutrality, putting the future of the Internet at risk.
If you agree with us that the internet depends on net neutrality, please send the FCC a brief note. You can submit one online here, here or here. Please act quickly as the public comments period closes on Thursday.
