Fox Nation's Bogus Suggestion PBS Covered Up Obama's Speech Gaffe

As Alan Colmes noted on his blog, Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs (not exactly a liberal site) completely debunked the latest right-wing freak out over PBS' supposed cover up of a gaffe made by President Obama in his address to Congress last week. In short, there was no real gaffe and there was no cover up. But "fair and balanced" Fox Nation has jumped at the twofer opportunity to attack both PBS and Obama in one fell swoop - and facts be damned.

Fox News Sunday Pimps Sleazebag James O’Keefe As “Power Player Of The Week”

Chalk up James O’Keefe as the latest recipient of Fox News’ Republican Rehab. Just as The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity and On The Record largely ignored the sleazier aspects of O’Keefe’s record - and completely overlooked his history of deceptive video editing - to promote O’Keefe’s latest stings against NPR, Fox News Sunday and host Chris Wallace took the Rehab to a whole new level today by making O’Keefe their “Power Player of the Week.”

Two-Time Voter Fraud Suspect Ann Coulter Wants NPR Investigated By The FBI And Rep. Peter King

If you ask me, two-time voter-fraud suspect Ann Coulter is not in any position to be pointing a finger at anyone else's wrongdoing. But naturally, she got no challenge from Sean Hannity last night (3/8/11) as she argued, during a segment in which she seemed more hyped up than usual, that the FBI and Rep. Peter King should investigate NPR because, in Coulter's words, the organization was “about to accept $5 million from a terrorist organization.” In reality, NPR was never “about to accept” any such money.

Who Cares If James O'Keefe Is A Lying Creep With A Criminal History? He Hates ACORN And NPR, So What's Not To Like If You're Fox News?

What a coincidence that just as the House has voted to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, including PBS and NPR and the Senate will soon vote on it, undercover ACORN “pimp” James O'Keefe shows up with a new sting video targeting NPR. Since the ACORN sting, O'Keefe has been arrested for allegedly trying to tamper with the phones of a U.S. Senator, the credibility of the ACORN videos have been seriously called into question and O'Keefe reportedly planned to seduce and humiliate a female CNN reporter. But there was almost no mention of O'Keefe's unsavory past and no questioning of the integrity of O'Keefe's latest project – even though Media Matters has already caught one suspicious bit of editing that Fox News either missed or ignored – on either The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity or On The Record, each of which devoted time to the story last night (3/8/11).

Colmes Mocks Conservative Whining About The Liberal Media

Alan Colmes appeared for his regular Tuesday night gig on The O’Reilly Factor last night (11/16/10) for a debate about the non-event of PBS editing out Tina Fey’s swipe at Sarah Palin when broadcasting her receipt of the Mark Twain Prize for Humor. Fox used this “controversy” to beat on two of their favorite targets: the so-called liberal media and the liberal entertainment establishment. Rather than go on defense, Colmes reframed the discussion with good-natured mocking: “Poor Sarah Palin, poor conservatives, always the victim of the evil liberal media. Oh, what a shame that you have to live in a world where all the media is liberal and poor Sarah Palin’s always the victim!” It was not only funny but completely yanked the stuffing out of the conservative attacks.
