Outrageous Fox News Quote of the Week Poll - 9/22/13-9/28/13

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on September 29, 2013 · Flag

It's been a week of outrageousness, I think we can all agree. And the pundits on Fox News have been no exception. Sadly, at least two of our nominees for Outrageous Quote of the Week this week come from liberals. Will one of them be THE MOST outrageous? The choice is up to you, dear readers.

And the nominees are...

Fox News liberal Bob Beckel reacting to the Kenya mall terrorist attack: "You moderate Muslims out there… The time has come for you to stand up and say something. And I will repeat what I’ve said before. No Muslim students coming here with visas. No more mosques being built here until you stand up and denounce what’s happened in the name of your prophet. …The point is, that the time has come for Muslims in this country and for other people around the world to stand up and be counted, and if you can’t, you’re cowards."

Fox News Democrat Penny Lee discussing Ted Cruz’ phony filibuster designed to hold the government hostage in order to defund Obamacare: "I applaud (Cruz) for sticking to his own, to Ted Cruz, for sticking to his principles, as he said. But what he did was he didn’t build the consensus around it and I think that’s what’s getting him in trouble."

Judge Andrew Napolitano discussing a U.N. arms treaty, designed to keep weapons out of the hands of terrorists, which he admitted in the same segment would not restrict any American's gun rights: "You know something, Brian? The people behind the treaty want that world government and in their minds, this is a step toward it …(e)ventually controlling all of us. …That’s the value set of John Kerry, Barack Obama and their allies in Europe who pushed this treaty.”

Bill O’Reilly: "Things are obviously out of control and the Democratic party is primarily to blame. Simply put, President Obama and his acolytes do not want Americans to accumulate wealth. They want to take private wealth away from those who have it and give it to those who don’t have it. And they have succeeded in doing that with an assist from the Bush administration, which ran up colossal debt after 9/11. Taxes in America have reached critical mass."

Tucker Carlson, attacking President Obama for having told the Congressional Black Caucus that he will not negotiate the budget, that “we” have been waiting 50 years for health care and have overcome “far darker threats:””(T)hat is a dog whistle, that is the race card being paid. Can you see any other explanation for it?”

Monica Crowley conspiracy theory of the day: “Obamacare …was never about health care or health insurance. It was about government power and control.”

Napolitano makes me embarrassed for my heritage. (I’m hereby changing my name to Flynn) He should know better even more than Beckel.

A nice selection of wingnuts. However, they are novices in this game when compared to the Whore of Babble-On Palin and Mad mAnnie Coulter. I will go with Ftucker (the “t” is silent) Carlson.

Had to go with O’Reilly who summarised perfectly – as usual (as Joseph noted) – the attitude of the filthy rich aka the 1 per-centers.

How anyone who claims to be a good – and practising – Catholic can say such things is beyond me.

I voted for Beckel. He should know better.

With all my love,
Aunty Headly

I’m not really sure what’s supposed to be the outrageous part of O’Reilly’s comment: His usual anti-Obama rhetoric or the fact that he actually BLAMES Dubya running up “colossal debt after 9/11.”

Wasn’t the right-wing’s view (and O’Reilly’s) in the immediate post-9/11 era that debt wasn’t all that important? Or is it just the fact that the US wasn’t the recipient of all that luscious Iraqi oil (that was supposed to pay for the Iraq part of the war) that’s got O’Reilly a bit off the “approved” right-wing script regarding the “post-9/11 debt?”

Ack, I see some typos in the O’Reilly and Carlson entries of the poll. I’m sorry, I just don’t have the time to redo the code again (it’s kind of a pain), so please just bear with me and ignore them!

Sorry, I messed up the poll and accidentally included Sarah Palin’s quote from last week. You’d think I would have remembered that she just won!

Anyway, it’s corrected now. So if you voted in the old poll with Palin’s name on it, please vote again!
