Cavuto On Business Panelists Sneer At Electric And Hybrid Cars

By Brian and Ellen

Yesterday (10/15/11), Cavuto on Business discussed Chevy's Spark, a new electric car. Guest Amilya Antonetti pretty much set the tone by saying, "They're trying to push this crazy green agenda with something that absolutely not listening to one thing that any American is saying." A statement like that is pretty funny given that her website boasts she is “one of the pioneers of the ‘human and Earth friendly’ movement and champion to bring ‘Green’ mainstream." I guess that’s only when she’s selling her own products, not selling her punditry on Fox News. But in addition to being a hypocrite, she’s kinda, sorta – well, wrong.

Forbes On Fox Host Doesn’t Want A Discouraging Word About Fossil Fuels

By Brian

On yesterday’s Forbes on Fox, the topic was, as the banner on the screen put it: Critics: GM Taking Taxpayer Funded "Green" Tech to China. Toward the end of the discussion, Professor Mark Tatge defended green technology by saying, "Fossil fuel, fossil fuel is dead, right? It's going to die in the next 20 years." That did not sit well with host David Asman.

Laughing Stock Michael Brown Still The Fox “News” Go-To Guy For Disasters

If you discount the World Trade Center attacks, the non-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction, the “Enhanced Interrogation techniques,” and the “Outing of CIA Agents”—which, oddly enough, pretty much sums up the entire 8 years under the President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney administration—most people would be hard pressed to name one other member of that regime. However, the name Michael Brown is one that crops up occasionally to point to the extreme incompetence of the Bush administration. To recap: Brown was the head of FEMA in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina whacked the Gulf Coast on August 29th. Four days later Bush praised him by saying, “Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job.” However, by then it was pretty clear to everybody but Bush that Brown was in way over his head. Less than 2 weeks later, on September 12th, Brown resigned as head of FEMA. With that resumé it’s a wonder why any so-called “news” operation would use him as a commentator following another natural disaster. However, that CV didn’t stop Bill Hemmer, who dragged out the disgraced ‘Brownie’ on America’s Newsroom to critique President Obama’s response to Hurricane Irene. Watch:

Fox's La Jeunesse Spins Against Green Energy Projects

By Brian

On Happening Now yesterday (8/25/11), William La Jeunesse "reported" about waste in Washington as part of the regular “It's All Your Money” segment. Midway through the "report,” La Jeunesse said, "Twenty one billion for highly inefficient and wasteful green energy projects that produce little or no power compared to oil, gas, and nuclear, and no mention of the loss of jobs and higher prices we likely pay for power, and the calls for higher subsidies for low income people that will have to pay more for expensive electricity, and the fact that Spain destroyed two jobs for every green job created." But there was no mention that going green produces more jobs per dollar than money invested in fossil fuels. Host Jenna Lee didn't challenge him on the omission or offer the alternative analysis. Just being "fair and balanced," Fox style.

Fox & Friends and Stuart Varney Side With Big Auto Against Better MPG Regulations

Recently the Obama administration floated the possibility of passing new mileage standards for car-makers. The proposed goal of 56 of miles per gallon for cars would be phased in over time, so that the eventual target is reached by 2025. On Fox and Friends The Three Stooges on the Curvy Couch (with Dana Perino playing the part of Gretchen Carlson) hosted Stuart Varney, and all seemed to think that this was all a stunt to get Obama re-elected and just more Big Government telling business what to do. Watch:
