O’Reilly, Guilfoyle And Wiehl Whoop It Up Over Jodi Arias’ Potential Death Sentence

Posted by Ellen -7835.60pc on May 23, 2013 · Flag

I’m no fan of Jodi Arias but there was something beyond tasteless about the way host Bill O’Reilly treated her pending life-or-death verdict as some kind of theatrical event. “Can we make a bet of some kind? That would be entertaining,” he said to his guests, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Lis Wiehl, the Fox News legal pundits who disagreed on the outcome. The “hilarity” that ensued was sickening to anyone who feels that sentencing someone to death is no laughing matter. It just proves that Arias has become nothing more than a media commodity to “pro-life” Fox News.

“Sure!” Guilfoyle said enthusiastically about placing a bet  on whether Arias would receive the death penalty. “If (Wiehl) loses , I get all her dresses!” Everybody broke up into laughter, even off screen.

There were even more chuckles as Guilfoyle joked that if she wins the bet, Wiehl gets nothing.

O’Reilly has said he is against the death penalty and I have no reason to doubt it. But this kind of behavior hardly shows a respect for the sanctity of a human life.

It’s too bad that Ms Arias didn’t try to paint her boyfriend as some sort of “secret Marxist/Socialist Muslim.” She would’ve had FoxNoise in her corner till the bitter end and, of course, the FoxNoise bobbleheads would’ve had hours and hours of programming dedicated to proving her allegations—no matter how blatantly absurd or denied by the victim’s friends and relatives who testified against Arias—and then, after the verdict came in against Arias, we could’ve had hours of programming devoted to examining just how deep the “conspiracy against Arias” really ran (naturally, Obama and Holder and the DOJ, even the IRS, would eventually be lured into FoxNoise’s evil web of suspicion and accusation).

In the Fux Nation, respect for the sanctity of life ends when you exit the womb.

You have to remember this is not a news show. It is an entertainment show. I am sure many of Mr. O’Reilly’s fans find this sort of stuff humorous. It’s not their family involved so why worry what other people think.

Unsurprising behavior.

Proof that Arias has become nothing more than a media commodity.
