Megyn Kelly’s Fawning Interview With Fiorina Overlooks Her Falsehoods About Generals Quitting Under Obama

Megyn Kelly was so busy gushing over Carly Fiorina’s dog video (which just happened to smear President Obama), that she totally “forgot” to ask Fiorina about the falsehoods told during the debate the night before, where Fiorina wrongly claimed that several generals had “retired early because they told President Obama things that he didn’t want to hear.”

During the CNN Republican debate Tuesday night, Fiorina named Jack Keane as one of several generals “I know” who was “retired early because they told President Obama things that he didn’t want to hear.”

In fact, Keane is a Fox News contributor who never served under Obama. Yesterday, Keane appeared on Fox Business’ Varney & Co., to debunk Fiorina’s claim. He said, "No, I have never spoken to the president. That’s not accurate, and I never served this administration. I served the previous administration."

ABC News noted that Generals David Petraeus and Stanley McChrystal, whom Fiorina also cited, retired for other reasons, not as a direct result of disagreements with Obama. ABC News also noted that when asked by reporters if she had misspoken, Fiorina dug in.

But there was no such awkwardness for Fiorina with Megyn Kelly on The Kelly File last night. In fact, every moment of their time together seemed devoted to accentuating the positive and eliminating the negative.

Kelly began by complaining that “over and over” there have been sexist comments made about Fiorina. She highlighted conservative radio host Steve Deace for having tweeted that Fiorina “goes full vagina right away” during the debate.

Rather than discuss sexism in the campaign, it was clear that Fiorina had been booked specifically to counterattack Deace, whom she called a “major surrogate” for her competitor, Senator Ted Cruz. “This is why Ted Cruz cannot possibly beat Hillary Clinton,” Fiorina argued. “He was speaking for Ted Cruz last night. So this is the Cruz campaign.”

To her credit, Kelly did mention that sexism “is a recurring theme” in attacks on Hillary Clinton, too. Don’t hold your breath for any major Democrat to get a similarly softball interview to decry such attacks on Clinton, however.

“Look, I believe in meritocracies. I will never ask for people’s support because I’m a woman,” Fiorina said. She said she believes she is the “most qualified candidate to beat Hillary Clinton and to become President of the United States.”

“Because you’re strong, because you’re fiery!” Kelly said enthusiastically, “not because you’re a woman.”

“Now one thing you may also have in common with her [Clinton] is, you both like dogs and I gotta ask you about this dog video that your campaign put out,” Kelly said, feigning independence.

Kelly was referring to the “fun” video that was supposed to show the humorous, self-deprecating side of Fiorina. Kelly didn’t have time to play the entire video, she said, but she just happened to highlight the part where Fiorina said, “Obama ate your cousin.” Kelly was so amused, she couldn’t get the line out without laughing.

Kelly also helped disarm critics of Fiorina for having eaten a dog biscuit by saying she has done it, too.

Yet nothing was said about Fiorina’s “baby parts” lie about Planned Parenthood in a previous debate, either, despite the fact that it may well have caused her precipitous decline in the polls.

When you’re having so much gal-pal fun, who has time for little details like fact checking what was said in a debate, even if it was just the night before?

Watch the bias from “straight news anchor” Kelly below, from the December 16 The Kelly File.

She is the quintessential mean girl. With her lip curled in disdain for those she deems beneath her. Just the sight of this woman makes me wretch.

What a cheap, desperate witch. Her smile is scary. She needs to show up for her interviews in black with a broom in her hand. It would look more natural.

I don’t think I can stomach this top of Steve Doocy gushing this morning how Fox News is ‘truly fair and balanced.’ Puked up my Cheerios. 😜

Going full vagina is equivalent to Cruz going full dick. Fiorina is a three time loser and a full time liar. The good sport she is by saying she’s using self deprecating humor to blow off the dog eating comment by eating a biscuit? I would say Kelly doesn’t know the definition. Fiorina says she’s Hillary’s worst nightmare, go home and get off our lawns, nobody wants you and nobody cares.

Kelly and the studio crew is probably the largest live audience company killer Carly has been in front of in quite a while.

And why is Kelly talking to her in the first place, it’s soooooooooooooooo unfair to Trump!

:-)

CarLIE FIBorina’s tiresome campaign and debate appearances are just an extended audition to become the GOPiggy VP candidate. It’s Caribou Barbie Palin redux. A woman to draw women’s votes away from Hillary Clinton. It didn’t work for Gramps McDepends in 2008, and it won’t work in 2016.

Kelly and Fiorina have some gal-pal fun accentuating Fiorina's positives and eliminating the negatives.
