Sean Hannity must have counted on his geriatric audience being in bed before The Daily Show comes on. Otherwise, some serious WTFs would have been yelled at the teevees when Hannity pretended his sanctimonious attack on liberals had not been eviscerated by host Jon Stewart the night before
Hannity complained that Stewart “went after” him “because I dared to call out Democrats for politicizing” the Charleston shooting. In reality, Stewart went after him for hypocrisy and using a call for restraint as an excuse to avoid addressing the racial issues underlying the shooting.
“Like clockwork, liberals have taken the horrible South Carolina shooting from last week and they’re trying to use it to advance their own narrative and agenda,” Hannity now complained. As if Stewart had not demolished Hannity the pevious night by showing how Fox used the tragic deaths of two New York police officers to immediately attack liberals.
Hannity played a selectively edited clip from The Daily Show:
STEWART: It’s a sickness, this rush to use tragedy to advance your narrative. Combine that with an inability for self examination, an almost comical degree of self-exculpatory rhetoric, flag pins, little bit of leg and a complete immunity to irony – you’ve got yourself a full-blown case of Fox-abetes.
What Hannity “forgot” to play were all the Fox News clips that followed – of Fox doing the very politicizing they supposedly disdain.
Later, with a panel, Hannity did an awful lot of protesting that conservatives are not racists.
HANNITY: I know and understand the southern people. There seems to be this belief that people in the south want to cling to this flag when there are other reasons why good people don’t want to change it.
Which neatly avoided the inconvenient truth for it flying in the first place – in defiance of civil rights. Hannity also neatly avoided the history of the flag being used by white supremacists like the KKK. As The Atlantic noted, while its meaning in pop culture may have expanded, “as a political symbol, it offered little ambiguity.”
Hannity didn’t get the answer he wanted from his panelist, singer John Rich. He said, “There’s only flag I really care about and I think that’s the end of the argument right there.” Meaning, the American flag, of course. But Rich went on to say, “If something’s bringing pain or something’s bringing something that somebody uses for hate like that, I mean, I just don’t see the point of continuing to go forward with it.”
Nobody had a rebuttal.
Later, Hannity tried to argue that it was Democrats, “people like Robert Byrd” who brought back the Confederate flag – conveniently “forgetting” that that was a prelude to Democrats fleeing the Democratic party and becoming Republicans. Hannity loves to attack Byrd's racist past. But Byrd long ago apologized for his past. Sean Hannity pretends his doesn’t exist.
“They didn’t support the Civil Rights Act of ’64 or the Voting Rights Act of ’65,” Hannity said about the southern Democrats.
As if he would have. Why, it was just a few years ago that Hannity and colleague Ainsley Earhardt took a stand on behalf of segregation in Westchester County, New York.
“Any good person with a good heart and soul, and a conscience, finds racism repugnant. Isn’t it a small minority now, that we’re talking about in America?" Hannity asked.
If that’s the case, then how does Hannity manage to find so many to pal around with?
See if Hannity's nose is growing below, from the June 24 Hannity.
I think the Hannity BFF you refer to is Hal Turner who is, alas, out of jail and appealing his verdict. If you google him, you’ll find it.
As for Hannity’s boss being Jewish, I’m not sure what you mean but Hannity is not especially anti-Semitic, though he doesn’t mind others who are.
It’s why all they’ve got left is parroting our own arguments and turning them back on us (‘liberalism is a mental disorder;’ ‘the left can’t handle facts;’ etc etc)
He compares the Confederate flag to rap music. He is really a dumb man. He can’t help it. It’s the way he’s wired upstairs. He’s an embarrassment to journalism and to his family.
Poor MJ. If only Michael W. Smith came into her life before this bloated clown. Life would be much easier.
“…..I mean his BFF hate his top boss who is Jewish talk about irony. LOL!!!!”
Hmmmmmmmm, speaking of being Jewish, that reminds me of this parody of the late Dean Martin’s signature hit “That’s Amore” — it’s called “That’s A Moron”:
In Foxie Land where dumb is king
When Sean is on here’s what we say:
When you spew right wing views
And your friends all hate Jews
That’s A Moron,
When you lie with such glee
With an IQ of three
That’s A Moron,
Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling,
And your friends will sa-li-vate,
Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay,
Don’t peddling hate pay so great,
When the spin makes you croak
Like a nut-zoid on coke,
That’s A Moron,
When you bitch and you moan like a paranoid clone
You’re insane,
When you rally your troops
With your big piles of poop
Jesus weeps,
‘Scuz-a-me, can’t you see, here in re-al-i-ty
That’s A Moron, That’s A Moron, That’s A Moron!

The Stop Hannity Express exposes his and that sorry producer’s dirty little scheme.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, Republicans, including GOP presidential candidates, have joined South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s call to remove the Confederate battle flag. As expected, that announcement didn’t sit well with the wingnuts. Calls for Haley’s removal and other insults flooded conservative blogs.
Enter old Hannocchio.
His scheme is to deflect attention away from Republicans’ call to remove the flag, and place the flag’s original existence on Democrats.
Squash his scheme by calling all local and national radio talk shows, and telling the masses this gem. Change it, if you like. Emphasize the words in caps with a higher pitch sound for added impact.
“Thanks for taking my call. I applaud all REPUBLICANS for their stand AGAINST the Confederate flag. I agree with them that the flag represents a RACIST past, and it must be removed. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and ALL the Republican presidential candidates have STOOD UP to supporters of this RACIST flag and said no, YOU are WRONG!”
Repeat this to all the wingnuts 24/7 until they memorize it. “Republican Party is taking down the Confederate flag.”
