Sean Hannity appears to be very glum lately. Probably because his man Mitt is looking just as much the loser even after he chose Ronald Reagan Reincarnated Paul Ryan as a running mate. So Hannity has been handling his disappointment the way most bullies do: by taking it out on others. Unfortunately for him, Democrat Joe Trippi wasn’t intimidated by the bluster and histrionics.
Poor Hannity is still suffering from his severe case of amnesia about right wing attacks on President Obama. On Thursday night (8/16/12), Hannity was in a Hanctimonious lather over the campaign slings and arrows that he seems to think are coming only from the Obama side.
Trippi, however, threw cold water on Hannity’s GOP Special Victimhood. “To be really blunt about it, you could have run a tape of the other side doing the same thing,” Trippi said.
That was just too much for the bully boy’s sensitive widdle feewings! His voice seething with anger, Hannity said, “Joe, I take issue with that. No, Joe. Joe! …We can’t run a tape of Republicans, you know, accusing the president of killing people (maybe not, but we can show a tweet from a Fox News anchor making that accusation), we can’t run a tape of Republicans saying that Obama is, wants dirty air and water (no, but we can run video of Fox News guests accusing him of destroying the country and calling him "the enemy" - with Hannity's approval), we can’t run a tape of Republicans playing the race card like the vice president did."
That last one about Biden playing the race card was just hilarious. We could easily nickname Hannity “Mr. Race Card.”
Then the other guest, David Limbaugh (brother of Rush) got in the action. He called Obama “the most divisive president in history… His divisiveness is a strategy. He’s intentionally divisive, unlike other presidents… He’s doing it in a way to demonize people… He really does pit us against each other and he doesn’t bring us together and treat us as Americans who have an equal opportunity society.”
Now that’s even funnier. Limbaugh can’t seem to open his mouth without being divisive. Like his brother, Rush, it appears to be his specialty. Some of David Limbaugh's chestnuts on Fox:
LIMBAUGH: I don’t think (Obama) believes in the American idea. I don’t think he believes in our Constitution. He doesn’t believe in the constitutional republic. He says democracy is messy. He kind of wishes he had it like China.
LIMBAUGH: (John) Kerry has a thing against the military. (unlike Kerry, military-loving Limbaugh never bothered to suit up and serve)
LIMBAUGH: Liberals are unable to learn.
Yeah, he’s a real uniter who takes the high ground, alright.
Hannity went on to play a series of polls showing Obama lagging in Wisconsin, Florida and on handling the economy, deficit and jobs creation as “proof” that Obama’s strategy is not working. But for some reason, he didn't mention the electoral college map or the national polls or Intrade betting.
I’ve been very critical of Joe Trippi in the past so let me say I applaud him in this segment. Trippi came back with one of the best lines I’ve heard from a Democrat on Fox, and one that should be repeated every time the GOP Special Victim violin starts playing: “This is a campaign for the president of the United States. If Romney can’t take it, he shouldn’t be running for president if he can’t stand up to Barack Obama.”
That silenced the two loud mouths, although just for a few beats. But Hannity came back shriller and almost hysterical. “Where’s your conscience?” he shouted, among other things. “You’re selling your soul and you’re not standing up for any level of intellectual honesty or integrity. There will be a price to pay!”
As he closed the segment, Hannity whined, for the umpteenth time in the past week or so, that this is “the sleaziest campaign in history.” And then he teased the next segment, featuring Allen West, another right-wing hate monger extraordinaire.
Warning: When Hannity complains about something anyone else is doing, it’s a sure sign, he’s about to do the same thing, himself. Sure enough, he got pretty sleazy in a later segment. Stay tuned.
I’m not allowed to say I hate blacks on Fux Nuze, so you won’t ever hear that from me! I can however set up a segment to vilify blacks and any other non-white, non-welthy, non-Catholic people I really really have a hate-on for! It’s fun and I’m wealthy doing it! Let’s all thank that great American – Rupert Murdoch, for giving me and other Christian Americans a venu like Fux! Toxic is Fun!
Faux Snooze lies again…
