Geraldo Rivera hosted Trayvon Martin’s parents on Geraldo At Large last night. He offered his “deepest apologies” to them for his comments that blamed Trayvon Martin’s hoodie “as much” for Trayvon’s death as shooter George Zimmerman. Updated with video of complete segment.
The parents graciously accepted Rivera’s apology. Tracy Martin, Trayvon’s father, noted that the night Trayvon was shot, it was raining and that the hood was protecting him from the rain.
It's a touching and tasteful interview - except that Rivera said that "many, many" white people do not agree with the African American perspective on the racial components of the case.
Rivera also said that now that two forensic experts have found that the person yelling "Help" on the 911 tapes was Trayvon, not Zimmerman, it's to be expected Zimmerman will be indicted.
Unlike a certain talk radio host who gives an obviously forced public relation, lawyer approved apology on a Saturday afternoon on his website, then while preaching accepting personal responsibility for your actions and words then blames liberals saying he is guilty of acting like them.
