Fox’s Megyn Kelly ‘Just Asks’ If President Obama Is To Blame For Paris Terror Attacks

Megyn Kelly teamed up with a former Bush administration official and suggested that the Paris terror attacks might have been avoided if only President Obama were more like George W. Bush.

Kelly’s guest was Fran Townsend, identified as “former Homeland Security and counterterrorism advisor to President George W. Bush.”

Townsend seemed to think the Paris attacks were a sign we need more surveillance. Kelly never asked what Townsend meant by that. But Kelly was very focused on steering the discussion toward suggesting that President Obama’s departure from Bush administration policies were to blame for what happened in Paris.

TOWNSEND: We need surveillance tools. We need intelligence and we need the resources put against those capabilities to ensure that we continue to have the edge to try and disrupt plots.

KELLY: But we’re going the opposite way, are we not? We’re going the opposite way right now in the country.

TOWNSEND: Exactly right. And you know, we’ve become complacent over time because we’ve been successful at disrupting them in the United States and that’s a vulnerability. That complacency becomes a vulnerability where we think, “Well, we haven’t seen those attacks in the United States so we’re gonna take those tools away.” This should be a reminder about why we need them.

KELLY: Mmhmm. You know, President Bush once said, "If America shows weakness and uncertainty, the world will drift toward tragedy. That will not happen on my watch." Do you believe that’s happened – I mean, does this have anything to do with American power or not?

TOWNSEND: Look, I think what we’re seeing is when America fails to lead, nature abhors that sort of vacuum and others will move to fill that vacuum.

Never mind that Bush “led” us into an unnecessary war in Iraq based on falsehoods, that the Iraq war destabilized the region and, arguably, spawned ISIS. Funny how “straight news anchor” Kelly missed all that as she "just asked" if President Obama was endangering the country by not emulating Bush.

Watch Kelly try to make political hay from a tragedy unfolding on the air as she spoke (even though Fox supposedly abhors politicizing tragedy), from the November 13 The Kelly File.

Interesting that Bush gets a pass on 9/11 yet Obama’s responsible for the Paris violence. Fair and balanced indeed.

If FDR were more like Bush, FDR would have invaded Mexico after Pearl Harbor.

You mean, 1) continue to clear brush on a fake Texas ranch when a CIA staffer arrives to hand you a PDB entitled BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO STRIKE IN US, and 2) continue to sit and read “The Pet Goat” to schookids with a dumb look on your face when an aide tells you the nation’s capital and largest city are under attack?

But George W Bush had 9/11 occur with 3000 Americans killed Miss Kelley. This was 123 people killed IN FRANCE. To the extent we are responsible for this can be traced back to the destabilization of the middle east by president Bush attacking THE WRONG COUNTRY. Pathetic try Miss Megyn, truly pathetic.

Frances Townsend was a Bush-Cheney tool. That she spun for CNN is no surprise, as CNN is not close to being a truly reliable objective news entity, and that includes part of the news side, not the pundit and opinion side.
In addition to reading Facebook, I also “read books” on these subjects. The base simpleton nature of Megyn’s use of the Bush quote without knowing how flawed pre-9/11 intelligence was, and not revealing how Cheney took over the V.P. office and turned it into an massive (and subversive) intelligence center. The buildup to, and the spin-lies during the Iraq war, and the reality of the Bush administration in that situation does not speak highly of anyone connected to that administation ever. They sucked. Look at the history of the CIA and Bush etc.
Townsend is yet another corrupted shill. Look her up. The way Fox and CNN use these Rove-like propagandist pundits sucks, as they generally are not analyzed by the “journalist” anchorperson, who often knows not-that-much anyway, and regards the pundit as the “expert”, vs. someone that is taking a sided opinion.
Megyn Kelly is, as we know, full of crap, too. Look her up. I like Eric Alterman’s take on her and other Fox bimbods.
And hit that Nizkor fallacy tutorial, kids. Make Megyn look stupid in a debate.

I’m with Bob Barkur…..this non-stop hateful bullshit is really wearing on me. However, instead of making me want to give up the fight, I am becoming even more determined to vote/work against them at every opportunity.

Nature hates a vacuum. If George W.Bush had not displaced Saddam Hussein, this would not be happening.

Oh wow, how nice this lousy editor handles the copy and paste of Twitter text – NOT! Unfortunately, it didn’t display any of the tags until I posted the comment. :^(

The Paris terrorist attack is such a tragedy I certainly don’t want to make light of it. However, 11 hours ago when this first broke I tweeted:

“Has ”tweet-url hashtag" href=“https://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23FoxNews” title=“#FoxNews”>#FoxNews blamed #Obama, #Hillary, #Benghazi!, and #Obamacare for the #Paris terrorist attacks yet?"
https://twitter.com/eyesonfoxorg/status/665303970290774016

While obviously sarcastic, it didn’t take a Nostradamus to realize the right-wing propaganda factory was going to start the partisan finger-pointing and fear-mongering from the start.

As I listen to their ‘hard news’ typing this, an ANHQ ‘expert’ is spewing the spin Obama can’t ignore any longer he isn’t doing enough and keep pretending everything is all unicorns and roses. Like that’s his actually policy, not right-wing projection.

Is it ridiculous to even blame Obamacare? Let me write GOPTV™’s bulls**t for them: ‘Obama is so pre-occupied bankrupting America and the middle-class shoving Obamacare down our throats he’s too busy to deal with the real threat of radical Islamic terrorism.’ See how easy it is to write this silly crap?

GOPTV™ is going to be very tough to watch today as they roll out their go-to foaming hard-liner John Bolton who undoubtedly will now have an opportunity to do the American boots on the ground, kill them all simple-minded chickenhawk spew. In fact, another ANHQ ‘expert’ just chimed in and is bringing up the FBN GOP debate and saying this attack bolsters Rubio’s side of the argument over Rand’s that we need to much more aggressively fight them over there.

Fox News is convinced terrorism is the slam-dunk evidence ISIS is stronger than ever. Actually, terrorism is the tool of the powerless and weak. The weaker and more desperate they are the more they will lean on that crutch because it’s all they’ve got. If they had true power, they’d be rising up and march down the streets of Paris and D.C..
