Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer probably revealed more than he intended to today when he acknowledged that it’s “good news” for Republicans (and to Fox News viewers) if whites vote more and blacks vote less.
In a discussion with the Republican National Committee's chief strategist and communications director, Sean Spicer, Hemmer spilled the beans:
HEMMER: I’m looking at early voting. You have good news in Ohio. White share of the vote’s up three points from four years ago. Black share of the vote is down seven.
Almost as telling was the fact that Spicer did nothing to challenge the suggestion that it’s good for Republicans if African Americans don’t vote.
So when Republicans promote voter id laws in the name of preventing (phantom) voter fraud and then pretend that they are not trying to suppress minority votes, here’s proof that a suppressed minority vote is exactly what they consider “good news.”
And Fox News is there to help.
Also noteworthy in this segment is Spicer’s ridiculous claim that the presidential election is a “very, very close race.”
Now, maybe the results will be close. Maybe Republican candidate Donald Trump will win. But there’s no way to legitimately describe the race as it is now as close, much less “very, very close.”
Hemmer did not challenge Spicer's ridiculous assertion.
Watch it below, from the October 25, 2016 America’s Newsroom.
UPDATE: Hemmer also allowed Trump to lie, dissemble and distort about ObamaCare, during a phoner interview today.
Whew! You had me worried, there.
Steve ‘Bagdad Bob’ Doocy is being ever so helpful unskewing the polls. The heart of Doocy’s idiocy is this WikiLeaks nothing burger email snippet:
“I also want to get your Atlas folks to recommend oversamples for our polling before we start in February. By market, regions, etc. I want to get this all compiled into one set of recommendations so we can maximize what we get out of our media polling.”
Obviously Podesta is talking internal campaign polling. Whatever the Clinton campaign does with their own polls is their own business. Not to sub-genius Doocy. No, he knows better. This is an indictment of the entire mainstream media’s polls. Seriously. Like Podesta is their puppetmaster. Also, irony of irony it allows Doocy to diaper fill Clinton is practicing voter suppression.
Enter some ‘journalist’ from the right-wing rag The Washington Post for a game of softball who comes up with all kinds of theories as to why Trump’s poll numbers are way too low.
Like ABC News screens out people who have no voting history and, of course, all those gray hair Archie Bunkers flocking to Der Furor have never voted before. Yeah, right. We’ll forget there’s little evidence based upon early voting he’s attracting first time voters but on Fox News you just make up convenient fact-free theories. All they have to do is sound reasonable and be exactly what right-wingers want to hear.
