Is Fox News Anti-Mormon?

Fox News is the mouthpiece for the evangelical religious right and the evangelical religious right has a problem with the Mormon religion which some claim, at best, is not true Christianity and, at worst, a cult. So was it coincidence or design when Southern Christian conservative Ainsley Earhardt said, during a recent Fox & Friends show, that Mitt Romney isn't a Christian? The interesting thing is that this isn't the first time that Fox News has offended Mormons! Whoopsie?

Fox Affiliate Refuses To Apologize For Open Mic Comments After Palin Speech

After Sarah Palin’s Friday night speech at the University of California, Stanislaus, Fox 40 from Sacramento accidentally broadcast comments from reporters and crew members. One individual said that he could understand why "the dumbness doesn't come through in sound-bytes.” Another said that “she'd not used a complete sentence or even ‘made a statement’." Although the station claims that their personnel were not behind the comments, they are neither disclosing the names of those involved nor offering an apology for airing the comments. Will somebody get taken to Murdoch's "wood shed?" Inquiring minds want to know!

Fox Affiliates Distance Themselves From Fox News

Well, well, well. It seems as if some of Fox News' own colleagues are not quite brandishing the connection with pride. Joe Strupp, at Media Matters, notes that some affiliates make it hard to see the name "Fox" on their logo; another has trouble booking Democratic guests on its local political show; another receives daily complaints about Fox News or Bill O'Reilly.

FOX News Enables Republicans In Denying Their Earmark Addiction

Guest blogged by Julie

Just when I thought Fox News (and the Republicans) could sink no lower, they sank lower. The most recent babble from the Right (which, of course, includes Fox News, the Official Conservative Network) over those evil earmarks is stunning in its absolutely circular logic – or wait, not even circular – lack of logic altogether. Anyone tuned in probably knows that the Congressional Righties have quite an aversion to the earmarks in the $410 billion dollar spending bill just signed by President Obama – such an aversion, in fact, that they took all of theirs out, right? Not quite – 40% of the earmarks in this bill belong to the Republicans.
