Fox News Wasted No Time Attacking Larry Wilmore And President Obama At WHCA Dinner

The applause at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner had not stopped before Fox News cut away to The Greg Gutfeld Show so they could start panning it. Comic Larry Wilmore got most of the criticism but they didn’t do a lot of praising of President Obama, either.

“That was interesting, to put it diplomatically,” host Greg Gutfeld said.

The studio audience started booing.

“A lot of jokes seemed a little repetitive,” Gutfeld said.

“Wait a minute, there were jokes?” guest Rob Long jumped in.

Long acknowledged that Obama “killed in a lot of ways.” But he quickly added, that there were more people in the audience than watch Wilmore’s Nightly Show “and now we see why.”

Guest Dagen McDowell sneered that the audience looked like they’d been served “gin and buttermilk.”

Guest Ben Kissel called Wilmore’s performance “a covert way of tanking your ratings.” He continued, “Who could watch that show?”

Guest Joanne Nosuchinsky “joked” that Wilmore may not be funny but he was “the kindest man” because when President Obama asked him to “take a dive” for him and let him be the funniest guy in the room, Wilmore said he’d do it.

Kathleen Timpf complained about being bored.

Gutfeld complained there weren’t enough Trump jokes. He also said Obama’s jokes were like a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade float, meaning that you could see them coming from a long way off.

McDowell said The Nightly Show producers might want to replace Wilmore with Obama, now that Obama will soon be free.

Nosuchinsky theorized that the reason nobody went harder after Trump was because he might “be on that stage next year.”

Gutfeld quipped, “What, is he going to marry Hillary?”

That got a huge laugh.

I will admit I was disappointed by Wilmore. But President Obama crushed it, including the mic drop at the end.

But if you watch the Gutfeld Show discussion below, you’ll notice that they didn’t give Obama much credit.

Watch it below, from the April 30 The Greg Gutfeld Show. I’m also including Obama’s full remarks as well as Wilmore’s.

After watching media accounts from various sources highly praising the president’s White House Correspondents Association Dinner performance, I turned here to observe fair and balanced Fox News’ inevitable smears and jeers.

Dried up comic Gutfeld’s show is unwatchable. Not because it’s a bunch of drooling right-wingers. No, it’s because it’s a bunch of drooling right-wingers with no comedic talent or timing who think lazily bad-mouthing liberals is inherently funny. So smearing Larry by saying his ratings suck – something the Gutfeld gang find uproariously funny – isn’t remotely clever or inherently funny. Any more than me saying Gutfeld’s show sucks is particularly funny, no matter how accurate.

Having endured long ago the dreadful and painful Fox News “Half Hour Comedy Hour”, I realize conservatives just find nasty smears of liberals hilarious. So that show made joke of a liberal eating out of dumpster and getting beaten bloody in an alley. Yeah, that was supposed to be not mean, but funny. In the same tradition Gutfeld and his untalented crew of sycophants draw their material. Pathetic.

When the Orangeman, John Boehner, was tempting the President with cigarettes, that was hilarious.

And what will be remembered? Jesse Watters stealing a phone from some dude and getting into a fight about it.

Here’s the deal, Foxies….President Obama doesn’t need to be funny in order to be famous and highly regarded in the world.
But he is.
Quite the multi-tasker, eh??

Our President got more genuine laughs in that one speech last night than Greg Gutfart or D-List Dennis Miller have received in the last decade on Fux Noise.
