In case you've missed it, I've been following on Crooks and Liars how Fox & Friends has been concern trolling about the supervised release of some low-level immigrant detainees as part of the sequester cuts. Ignoring how this has been a part of Department of Homeland Security policy since at least 2002. Yesterday, Fox's former-judge Andrew Napolitano actually called for impeachment over it. All this while Fox attacks President Obama for scare mongering about the sequester effects.
Last week, the Curvy Couch Crew hosted an anti-immigrant zealot named one of the Ten Scariest Republicans Heading To Congress in 2010 by Right Wing Watch as some kind of neutral commentator on the subject. He likened Obama to Fidel Castro and said he'd rather let criminals go free than lay off federal employees. He told the credulous Crew, “I was told” some of those released “may have been high level criminal aliens” who are “so bad that their own countries didn’t want to take them back.” Rather than ask for details about what he had been told or make any attempt to validate it, Gretchen Carlson piled on the fear-mongering by "asking, "What if these were high-level criminals who would go out and commit another crime? Who would be responsible? What if somebody dies?”
Yesterday, Napolitano upped the ante by calling for Obama's impeachment over it. This, just a few days after host Steve Doocy called Obama "President Panic" for fear mongering about the sequester. Yesterday, though, it was Doocy who prodded Napolitano into saying that the release of the detainees "is so offensive, it's impeachable."
The two posts below are from my Crooks and Liars posts. I post there every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday (though there may be a delay on busy news days).
Well, hell — if a killer is on the way to my house, it could just as easily be thanks to Mike Huckabee as it is to President Obama:
[the immortal words of the late Frank Morgan, aka “The Wizard of Oz”]
We have a legacy to defend! Don’t let Obama blemish the impeccable record of GW Bush who kept us all safe from terrorist attacks on our very own soil!!!
I knew everything I needed to know as soon as I hit his name. Predictable what he had to say, and what he didn’t coach other shows to spout, it’s a safe bet Kelly and Pirro did.
A convenient Fux Noise phrase that translates to: “I am pulling this out of my ass. I have no facts to support it. But it is a right-wing meme of the day oinked out by Jabba The Ailes.”
It’s kinda funny really.
It’s like watching them commit HARI KARI
right before our eyes.
OR like watching ‘The Wicked Witch of the West’….
[last words] “Ohhh! You cursed brat! Look what you’ve done! I’m melting! Melting! Oh, what a world! What a world! Who would have thought a good little girl like you could destroy my beautiful wickedness! Ohhh! Look out! Look out! I’m going! Ohhhh – Ohhhhhhhhhh!”
