Fox Loves The Sheriff Who Wants Everyone To Buy Guns And ‘Be Ready To Take On Terrorists’

As part of its wet dream of having every American walking around armed to the teeth, Fox News showcased a Florida sheriff who made an NRA-friendly video saying, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

“That sheriff is calling on everyday citizens to buy guns and be ready to take on terrorists themselves,” host Brian Kilmeade said in his introduction.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey seemed to like the idea of some kind of Wild West America. “We’re looking for our citizens to either have the ability to eliminate the threat or at the very least stall it until the calvary can arrive,” he said.

Kilmeade made a phony stab at balance by playing a clip of New York police Commissioner Ray Kelly saying he’s concerned about a “wholesale increase of people carrying guns.” In a “tumultuous situation,” Kelly said, if an amateur takes out a gun, it could “just compound that mayhem.”

“Is his concern warranted, sheriff?” Kilmeade asked.

Of course, Ivey didn’t think so. “I have absolute faith in our citizens to help us protect our communities,” he replied.

Then, just in case anyone might have thought Kelly sounded sensible, Kilmeade threw his support behind gun mania. “You know what the message is, too, to the would-be terrorists?” Kilmeade added. “That state might be armed. I might walk into that building and I might be facing force because they want an easy target.”

“There’s no doubt about it,” Ivey agreed. “Americans have had enough. It’s time to stand up, it’s time to unite, not only as citizens but as state and national leaders and say we’re gonna protect us, we’re gonna protect our families and the values of our country.”

Kilmeade closed with a bit more of the rootin’ tootin’: “Right. And get that word fear out of it and when people can take action, the fear goes away,” he said.

On Fox News, there’s no such thing as being too afraid or having too many armed vigilantes. Because America: f*** yeah!

Watch it below, from the December 8 Fox & Friends.

Homicidal/trigger happy fbi & cops now enlist their civilian sociopathic, armed civilian friends to threaten and to kill us. USA, the assassins’ nation.

The police/fbi purge of a selected class is underway.

@joseph west. Absolutely correct. If an armed young BLACK male walked into that sheriff’s fiefdom, he would carry his own death sentence.

Joseph West,

Yes, he said “calvary.” That’s why I said the sheriff seems to like the idea of a Wild West America.

Let me quote the Sheriff with his REAL meaning:

“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good white guy with a gun.”

“We’re looking for our white citizens to either have the ability to eliminate the threat or at the very least stall it until the calvary can arrive,”

“I have absolute faith in our white citizens to help us protect our communities,”

“*White* Americans have had enough. It’s time to stand up, it’s time to unite, not only as white citizens but as state and national leaders and say we’re gonna protect us, we’re gonna protect our white families and the right-wing conservative nutjob values of our country.”

(Just to ask, Ellen. Did the sheriff actually say “calvary?” That’s either a typo in the transcript or it’s a definite Freudian slip.)

I live in Brevard County where Ivey is sheriff. He’s a decent guy, just a Republican, though not usually so RWNJ. He is up for re-election in ‘16, so I imagine he’s starting to campaign early to get the gun nut vote sewn up. If the letters to the editor are any indication, he doesn’t have to try too hard. Brevard is solidly republican (what’s really scary is all the RWNJ Xtians that work for NASA) so it’s a given he’ll be re-elected.

If I’m arming to protect myself against terrorists, shouldn’t I also buy tactical gear? Sure, some people might be nervous about a guy at work, wearing a camo suit with body armor and shouldering a semi-auto rifle, but all it takes is one incident on the way to the water cooler (in which I hopefully don’t get mistaken for a terrorist and shot by law enforcement) to prove my fears correct! I could be a hero!!! Maybe I should get a grenade launcher, because you never know…

And get the word fear out of it?

Yeah, cuz there is nothing more comforting when the terrorists are facing down Betty from the mailroom blasting off an AK-47 right next to your ear.

And soon it will be High Noon, in every town in America.

I’d strongly suggest the ignorant white trash entrapped in a rightwing cult of pathetic ignorance redirect their fear towards their fellow citizens who are capable maintaining the dignity of being an American as a needed “War on Stupid” is being slowly written into America’s history.
