O’Reilly Makes Sure Rivera Not Too Supportive Of President Obama On Benghazi

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on November 03, 2012 · Flag

Geraldo Rivera visited The O’Reilly Factor last night for another heated discussion about attacking President over Benghazi. Rivera seems not only to have woken up to Fox’s presidential-election game on Benghazi but is speaking out against it as best he can, given that he’s an employee and seems to have real affection for Fox in other respects. But while Bill O’Reilly likes to make a big deal about how he’s “looking out for the folks” in a “no spin zone,” he interrupted and obstreperously blocked Rivera each time he opined in President Obama’s favor.

O’Reilly set the tone early by announcing to Rivera and the viewers, “You’re on the wrong side of this. …Surely you’re upset that the State Department of the United States would not protect their own. Surely you are.”

Rivera said, “The president of the United States has been absolutely slandered over this story. He’s been called a murderer and a liar.” Given that Rivera had contentiously alleged the same thing earlier on Fox & Friends - and pointed his finger at how Fox has repeatedly exploited a guest out to say that on the air, it’s a safe bet Rivera knew the import and context of his statement now.

It's a safe bet O'Reilly did, too. He was not interested in any side of the story except that the one that made the Obama administration look bad. He quickly interrupted: “Not by anybody here and not by rational people.” O’Reilly continued to interrupt Rivera every time he spoke too well of President Obama.

To his credit, Rivera was not deterred. “I think the president is owed an apology,” He reiterated.

Again, O’Reilly interrupted, this time with more hostility. “Alright, why don’t you go door to door and get that.” Wagging his finger, O’Reilly commanded, “Stay on my point… I want my part discussed. Get to it now!”

Rivera: The President is owed an apology. He did everything he could have done during the attack to keep our people safe…”

O’Reilly: You don’t know that for a fact. That’s your opinion.

Rivera: I know that Senator McCain, Senator Graham and Senator Ayotte today suggested as much specifically in a letter.

O’Reilly interrupted again to say that while “it’s OK” to give Obama “the benefit of the doubt,” he once again decreed, “Go to my point. You’re pettifogging it now.”

Near the end, Rivera said, “I just think that we have lost some good people under tragic circumstances that need really to be vigorously investigated but it’s not a political issue.”

Again, O’Reilly interrupted, “When did you turn into a waffler?”

Thank you, Geraldo, for placing principle and journalistic integrity over politics and propaganda. Let's hope you now see that on Fox News, no subject is too great or too trivial to politicize against Democrats.

OH PLEASE!!! Geraldo can hold his own against O’Reilly….. I saw that segment and while I do not agree with either of them at times… it was not as much of a deal as you are making it out to be… both were stating their opinions and neither ‘WON’ if that is what you are looking for…

As for benghenzi-the President has made alot of mistakes over Libya and unfortunately, instead of saying so, has back tracked and done other things… which, makes the opposing party get more suspicious, understandably… There is alot more to the Libya story that needs to come out, even if a number of you do not think so.. The families of those killed there are very upset over being told NOTHING.. and I would be to, if I were them. and for me, it is not because the Pres. is a democrat, it is because I feel things are missing to the ‘story’ and these ‘things’ do not appear to be of national security.

@KentBrockman. Bildo also sez: This Benghazi-gate thing is a load of crap. But it’s the only thing that Fux Noise has to smear the President in these last few days before the election.
