Neil Cavuto Tries To Suggest Liberal Policies Could Soon Bring London Riots To The U.S.

By Brian

Yesterday (8/13/11), Fox News’ regular Saturday morning “business block” was pre-empted for a special with the fear-mongering title, “On the Brink.” Not surprisingly, host Neil Cavuto followed in the footsteps of other Fox segments and used the riots to fear monger that liberal policies might soon bring the same violence here.

Fox News Helps Whitewash Coulter’s Latest Murder Fantasy: Killing The London Rioters

As we’ve previously noted, two-time voter fraud suspect Ann Coulter fantasizes a lot about murder. Somehow, neither her very questionable voting record nor the murder fantasies ever seem to be a problem for Fox News. Two days ago, the attention-hungry Coulter advocated in a column for “a few well-placed rifle rounds” to end the London rioting along with “a more sustained attack… (that) might save England from itself.” Have no fear she assured us, “There's no danger of killing off the next Winston Churchill or Edmund Burke in these crowds.” But no biggie. Coulter got a friendly platform on The O’Reilly Factor last night where she spewed some more of her hate-filled, racially-tinged invective - albeit with only a hint of violence - as O’Reilly sympathetically listened. There was no mention of her mass murder suggestion nor that pesky voting record. FoxNews.com similarly glossed over Coulter's comments by calling its video of the segment, Coulter: Liberal Policies Led to U.K. Riots. Video embed after the jump.

Predictably, Fox News Uses London Riots To Blame The Left

By Brian

Yesterday’s Your World hosted conservative Nile Gardiner in a transparent effort to use the London riots as political fodder against the left. In his introduction, host Neil Cavuto began by accusing others of turning the story into “class warfare” and mentioned a “left-leaning lawmaker blaming the violence on rich bankers and others saying conservative policies are the culprit.” As we’ve come to expect from Fox, that was an opening for the “fair and balanced” network to launch an attack on the left. Updated with video.

BREAKING NEWS: James Murdoch Announces News of the World To Cease Publication

Ellen has been keeping her eye on the unfolding News of the World scandal as it has progressed. Yesterday her article “International Disgust Over News Corp. Tabloid Hacking Into Murder Victim’s Voice Mail” was just the latest discovery in that scandal. Today, James Murdoch announced that after a 168-year run—more than a century and a half—News of the World would cease publication with this Sunday’s issue.

In Last Week On Air Beck Doubles Down on Crazy Conspiracies

If anyone thought that Glenn Beck would go quietly into that good night, they would have been mistaken. Any other rational person fired from their job (although neither the propaganda network nor Beck are calling the carefully stage-managed exit a firing) might develop some humility, do some real soul searching, and admit where they may have been wrong. Not our Glenn Beck and that’s why we love him so. With just four shows left to his name on Fox “News,” the former-prop comedian has eschewed the frogs, puppets, and pies—and barely touched his world famous chalkboards*— in order to insist that everything that has happened anywhere in the world validates every crazy conspiracy he ever uttered. And, he manages to wrap them all up with a single bow. Watch how deft he is in this clip, which was Monday’s “cold opening,” before the credits even rolled:
