Fox News Crew Maced and Beaten On Wall Street As Jon Stewart Mocks Fox’s Coverage Of Occupy Wall Street

As News Hounds has reported, Fox “News” has been dismissive of the Occupy Wall Street protests springing up across the nation. This seems odd, considering how much free publicity the unfair and balanced network gave to the astro-turfed Teabagger protests. Contrast that with Occupy Wall Street, which appears totally organic: A few weeks ago most people knew nothing of it and it has been growing daily, despite getting very little coverage in the MSM. This has obviously spooked the Fox “News” Channel because it has yet to accurately report on the protests. Instead the so-called news channel has employed the spin and ridicule for which it’s known when something disturbs The Force. Since the sharpest observer of today’s political scene remains a cable comedy show, Jon Stewart couldn’t help but point out the Fox News hypocrisy on OWS, with special shout outs to Sean Hannity and Steve Doocy. Laughing Stock Michael Brown Still The Fox “News” Go-To Guy For Disasters

If you discount the World Trade Center attacks, the non-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction, the “Enhanced Interrogation techniques,” and the “Outing of CIA Agents”—which, oddly enough, pretty much sums up the entire 8 years under the President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney administration—most people would be hard pressed to name one other member of that regime. However, the name Michael Brown is one that crops up occasionally to point to the extreme incompetence of the Bush administration. To recap: Brown was the head of FEMA in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina whacked the Gulf Coast on August 29th. Four days later Bush praised him by saying, “Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job.” However, by then it was pretty clear to everybody but Bush that Brown was in way over his head. Less than 2 weeks later, on September 12th, Brown resigned as head of FEMA. With that resumé it’s a wonder why any so-called “news” operation would use him as a commentator following another natural disaster. However, that CV didn’t stop Bill Hemmer, who dragged out the disgraced ‘Brownie’ on America’s Newsroom to critique President Obama’s response to Hurricane Irene. Watch:

Leaked Letter Points To News Corp. Cover Up

There's a new development in the News Corp. phone hacking and it's very damning of News Corp.'s higher management. A leaked four-year old letter from Clive Goodman, a reporter newly out of jail after being convicted of phone hacking, alleges that hacking was done by others and "widely discussed" at editorial meetings. The Guardian notes, "The letters from Goodman and from the London law firm Harbottle & Lewis are among a cache of paperwork published by the Commons culture, media and sport select committee. One committee member, the Labour MP Tom Watson, said... 'Clive Goodman's letter is the most significant piece of evidence that has been revealed so far. It completely removes News International's defence. This is one of the largest cover-ups I have seen in my lifetime.'"

Has The Five’s Greg Gutfeld Been Infected By The Gay Agenda?

Props where they are due. After yesterday’s (and previous) rips of Greg Gutfeld, it’s only fair to mention the one time (so far) that Gutfeld was actually decent, and not the smug and unfunny frat boy he usually plays on television. Nominally, the argument (and that’s all it ever is on that show: one big, long, never-ending, interminable, non-stop argument) was a Tanteros device to give Michele Bachmann some patented Fox News cover for her husband’s whackadoodlePray Away The Gay” therapy clinic. Tantaros is shocked—shocked, I tells ya!!!—that someone might take a hidden camera undercover to embarrass the candidate’s spouse and, therefore, the candidate herself (like Michele Bachmann needs anyone’s help in that area). The Fox News chyron read 2012 SPOUSES: FAIR GAME? As Tanteros intoned portentously, “This is what the left is doing now. It is trying to take this jobs economy [campaign issue] and turn it into an issue about Gay Marriage.”

Are Americans Supporting Fox News and Rupert Murdoch With Tax Breaks? -- UPDATED -- Article Withdrawn

That seems a fair question, considering the very questionable Fox “News” Jihad™ against Media Matters for America over its tax-exempt status. A question that also, apparently, occurred to David Cay Johnston of Reuters, who writes in an OP-Ed piece (carefully labeled “opinions expressed here are his own”):
