Carl Cameron: Ann Romney ‘Like Your Best Friend’s Mom…Very Normal, Very Average’

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on August 29, 2012 · Flag

“Objective” Fox News reporter Carl Cameron offered his thoughts after Ann Romney’s speech last night – and what a coincidence! He just happened to echo the “Romneys are just regular folks we can all relate to” theme that Fox’s Chris Wallace and Megyn Kelly have recently promoted and that Ann Romney, herself, had just put forth. But I think Cameron may have taken it a bit too far when he bubbled that Mrs. Romney is “very normal, very average.”

Here’s what Cameron said:

One of the things people often say when they first meet Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann, is that she’s so normal, she’s like your best friend’s Mom when you go visit after school and she bakes you cookies but also tells you to tuck in your shirt. Very normal, very average and yet today’s speech was exactly what Republicans have been crying out for, for a peek into the real Mitt Romney. This assertion that they don’t know who he is – she painted a picture that to those who know him is precisely what he’s been all along: decent, determined, disciplined and really – kind of making it very clear that he’s not gonna be stopped by political criticism. He’s going to follow his convictions.

Yes, Ann Romney is just like your best friend’s Mom – assuming your best friend’s Mom owns a multimillion-dollar beachfront house with a car elevator in La Jolla.  And assuming you think that’s “very normal, very average.”

As for "making it very clear" Mitt Romney will not be "stopped by political criticism" but will "follow his convictions," well, it's hard to imagine that even Cameron really believed what he was saying.

The world is a reality show for the entire Romney clan. They’re all just posing for the cameras and pretending to be regular people wearing normal underwear. Mittens has flip flopped so many times he has to think about which side of an issue he is supposed to be on.

The Millionaire’s Wife, aka, Ann is out-of-touch with the average working class American.

She does not live paycheck by paycheck like the rest of the masses. She does not have to choose between paying a bill or buying food. She does not have $5-20 left in a bank after paying rent or mortgage, utilities, insurance, bills and food. She does not take the bus to work like millions of Americans. She does not have to worry about health care for her family because she can afford it, unlike the millions of masses without health care.

The Millionaire’s Wife knows nothing about the struggles the working class masses is going through, absolutely nothing. She can never relate to the working class masses.

It looks to me Anny Fanny rules that roost,Mittens the Robot doesn’t have enough cojones nor personality to rule anything. It seems to me whoever cranks him up in the mornings isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer either, hence all the flip-flopping.No matter how much talking ,flip-flopping and lying these Rombots do, regular people they are not.

MagicUnderwear Mitt has been running for President for over a decade. His “convictions” have flipped-flopped in response to the demands of the wingnut Repug teabaggers. However, the fatal flaw in his character is not his lack of true convictions nor his massive wealth. It’s the fact that neither he nor his obedient Mrs. really give a crap about people who are less wealthy and less privileged.

@ Diane Patyjewicz Right!

Ann is part of the TeaBagger Aspirational Marketing ploy. As John Steinbeck said:

“Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”

Mitt’s attack on a Cranbrook student he took to be gay goes a long way in explaining why Mitt needs a front-person (wife) to sell his snake oil. When it comes right down to it, Mitt cannot hide his true feelings about lesser peoples. For some people it never fails to connect a ‘vamp’ with product X – Perfect!
Line Up Suckers, let Ann Sell You The All New POTUS for 2012!!!!

When Campaign Carl spews it, you know it ain’t true.

MagicUnderwear Mitt and the Mrs. are super-wealthy, arrogant elitists who have lived their entire adult lives in luxury. They neither know or care about normal, average people.

MagicUnderwear Mitt’s only political principle is that he will say anything to get elected. His slavish obedience to the teabaggers who control the Repug Party is scary.

As they can’t say Romney is someone you could have a beer with … they had to fall back on a hypothetical cookie-baking, scolding friend of your mom’s? Lame. And not likely to “humanize” the husband who’s the one running for office. I get a subliminal message that it’s Ann who wears the trousers … hmmmm.
