Neil Cavuto used the recent news about Lance Armstrong dropping his efforts to clear his name from doping allegations to lay some hate and demonization on the U.S. government.Read more
While others on Fox News gushed over Ann Romney's convention speech last night, Juan Williams was left cold. He said Ann Romney "looked to me like a corporate wife" and that it was "hard for me to believe" her story about struggling. "She did not convince me that, 'You know what? I understand the struggles of American women,'" he added. You could hear the shock and disbelief in the voices of the other panelists who couldn't seem to say enough good things about Romney's speech. Today, on Fox News radio, Chris Wallace criticized Williams' comment as "dumb." But I can't remember any criticism on Fox when Williams said about Michelle Obama, "She's Got The Stokely Carmichael In A Designer Dress Thing Going."
Yesterday, during their Republican convention coverage, Megyn Kelly and Brit Hume kept right on talking during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Mediaite noted that while MSNBC aired the song in full, Kelly and Hume "acknowledged the anthem before going right back to discussing the convention. As they were literally in an open-air box in the convention center, the anchors actually had to raise their voices."Read more
“Objective” Fox News reporter Carl Cameron offered his thoughts after Ann Romney’s speech last night – and what a coincidence! He just happened to echo the “Romneys are just regular folks we can all relate to” theme that Fox’s Chris Wallace and Megyn Kelly have recently promoted and that Ann Romney, herself, had just put forth. But I think Cameron may have taken it a bit too far when he bubbled that Mrs. Romney is “very normal, very average.”Read more
Are y'all watching the Republican convention tonight? Share your thought on the speeches and, especially, the coverage. Tonight, Ann Romney and Chris Christie are up, along with Rick Santorum, Artur Davis and Nikki Haley.
The official box-office figures are in for the first general-release weekend for “2016: Obama’s America”, Dinesh D’Souza’s conservative film purporting to tell us all about the roots of Obama’s anti-colonial, anti-American views. The film has done very well, as Fox Nation made sure we knew. According to its post, the film finished the weekend at #8 with sales of $6.5 million – extremely good for a documentary - and the highest per-screen theater average ($5,717), thanks no doubt to all those advance sales and pre-organized trips mentioned in an earlier post.Read more
According to the head honchos at Fox News, their official "news" programs are fair & balanced and not dedicated to pushing propaganda. So if that's the case (LOL), why did Bret Baier use the non-scientific term "partial birth abortion," a term coined in the late 90's by a consortium of anti-choice groups and the Catholic bishops, to describe a late term abortion procedure other than to underscore their pro-life creds and make the Obama bashing even more fun. Words mean something and in this case the wording was clearly an articulation of anti-choice propaganda which was part of the opposition to Obama in 2008 and, like those movie zombies, keeps coming back. "Fair & Balanced?" Not so much!Read more
Bill O'Reilly made a big point of telling us during his Talking Points commentary last night that unlike some people on Fox, he's not a political ideologue. Referring to his upcoming convention coverage, he said, "It will not be The Republicans are good, the Democratics are bad or vice versa. We are not in the business of promoting any political party." No, he just happened to conclude that The Republicans are sane and responsible while the Democrats are kowtowing to extremists and radicals.Read more
So much for Sarah Palin’s plan to “step back” and “let some new voices, new faces, new energy out there to really engage with the base.” That’s what she said two weeks ago when it was clear she was persona non grata at both the Republican convention and the Romney campaign. But now that the convention is here she just can’t seem to be able to resist trying to butt in and grab some attention away from others. Again. You might say she quit her quitting.Read more
