The line forms on the right, gentle reader, if you want to join the list of out-of-office statesmen, would-be pundits and just plain big-mouths wanting to help Fox News slam Obama on his foreign policy. Last night it was the turn of former Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. Yes, the architect of the Bush Administration’s debacle in Iraq re-emerged to tell On the Record that the Obama administration is in denial about the Libyan attack, that Obama’s apologetic weakness is a symptom of America in decline, and that people in Afghanistan are so relieved now that the Taliban is no longer around.

Imagine the "fun" that Fox Nation would have if a Democratic politician sent his wife a letter ordering her to perform "non-negotiable" sex acts! Just think what they would say if that letter included a comment, from said Democrat, about how the lucky lady is his "porn star." Now I don't have a problem with consensual kinky talk but if  Fox Nation got its mitts on this type of thing, coming from a Democratic member of Congress, I imagine that it would be a lede for a day with accompanying commentary about degenerate "libs" who are trying to destroy the American family. But here's the thing. A "family values" Republican sent this very letter to his wife. Suffice to say, it's not on Fox Nation.

Fox News host Neil Cavuto wins my vote for “Most Creative Way To Spin The Polls” with his attempt yesterday to credit Republican governors for Obama’s swing state leads. Cavuto hosted Florida’s Republican Governor Rick Scott to help promote that theory but unfortunately for Cavuto, Scott didn’t want to bite.

Abstinence advocate and Fox News contributor Steven Crowder has FINALLY LOST HIS VIRGINITY AND IT WAS AWESOME!!! His latest gag inducing column, "Waiting till the wedding night – getting married the right way." is all about how the post-nuptial bliss that he and the Mrs. enjoyed was due to their pre-marital avoidance of any sexual contact whatsoever and that, according to Crowder, included not engaging in Bill Clinton style oral gratification. Nosiree, Crowder didn't do the nasty before he put a ring on it and if he can do it, so should you.

Despite its claim to be devoted to "those who oppose intolerance," Fox Nation specializes in race baiting. It frequently posts threads which show minorities in less than flattering and often times criminal situations - white criminals, not so much. But Fox Nation knows exactly what it's doing as these threads invariably elicit ugly comments about how having an African-American president has given rise to black thuggery which will result in an impending race war for which the "nation" is arming itself. The comments frequently invoke crude stereotypes of black women and, on occasion, homicidal ideation. Such is the case with the thread titled, "Teen Mob Hijacks Gas Station, "We Own This!"

Newt Gingrich was yet another in the line of phony Middle East experts trotted out by Sean Hannity under cover of discussing the situation in the Middle East – who just happens to spend more time attacking the Obama administration than talking about anything else. But Gingrich reached a new low when he offered up a pop-psychology analysis of Obama, saying he has “almost a psychological need to be totally blind to the realities of Islamic extremism.”

Birther Boy Donald Trump got a full hour on a Hannity special last night to offer up his gas bag of punditry. Naturally, Sean Hannity drooled over every attack. But Hannity – who decries the race card when it’s played by black people – seems to think it’s a fine tool to use against President Obama.

While the reality based community is concerned about the fact that a third of this country's children are obese, the magical world of Fox & Friends thinks that this is no big whoop and attempts to curtail this problem are an infringement, by the Obama administration and Michelle Obama, on personal freedom. As such, Fox & Friends provides happy validation (War on Health) for those who oppose new guidelines for health school meals - even to the point of praising the nutritional value of sugar laden chocolate milk. In attempting to allay concerns about the dangers of too much salt, they brought in a representative from - wait for it - "The Salt Institute." And now that the kids in Kansas are upset about healthier school lunches, Fox & Friends is on their side and to reinforce the message that unhealthy eating is good for your kids is - wait for it - the aforementioned representative, Lori Roman, from the Salt Institute. Only in the Orwellian world of Fox is school nutrition part of "the trouble with schools."

You can barely turn on Fox News these days without hearing someone whine how the "liberal media bias" is to blame for Mitt Romney's falling poll numbers. David Carr, the New York Times' media critic, rightly demolishes that myth today in an editorial. But what he didn't contemplate is how the myth nonetheless serves some very useful Republican purposes regardless of its absurdity.
