The Fox News logo says that the news network is "fair & balanced" - not fair & balanced except for its opinion shows which, according to Fox brass, are exempt from the phrase on the network's mission statement. Fox opinion is, for the most part, right of center, especially when it comes to abortion. When it comes to women's reproductive rights, Fox is unabashedly in synch with the "pro-life" community. But while Bill O'Reilly just talks the anti-choice talk, Mike Huckabee walks the walk in his extremist anti-choice positions which include support for "personhood" rights for fetuses from the moment of conception - "rights" that would eliminate the right to an abortion and birth control. He shares this zealotry with sting videographer and James O'Keefe protégé Lila Rose who always gets a warm welcome on the opinion shows on the "fair & balanced" network. Cecile Richards from Planned Parenthood - not so much - in fact, as far as I can determine, not at all!

As the clock winds down for the Wisconsin recall election, Scott Walker made at least three visits to Republican Central, otherwise known as Fox News, tonight. During his third and presumably final visit, to On The Record, a banner saying “BREAKING NEWS” displayed on the screen. What was breaking other than, possibly, a record for how many appearances on Fox a Republican candidate can make in one day? I never figured it out.

Former News Hound Melanie has a hilarious post in which she describes how, thanks to the wonder of Twitter, she was able to glean exactly the "gist of a Fox 'News' interview without the agony and fury of having to watch it."

What a coincidence that one of the discussions initiated by Fox News Sunday host Christ Wallace closely echoed an RNC attack ad that came out the day before! The RNC ad mocks an Obama ad featuring Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour urging viewers to enter a sweepstakes where the winner attends a fundraising dinner with Wintour, actress Sarah Jessica Parker and President and Mrs. Obama. As Wintour speaks (in the Obama ad), banners on the screen of the RNC ad highlight unemployment statistics under President Obama. Yesterday, Wallace picked up that meme and mocked the ad for making Obama look out-of-touch and elitist compared with the struggles of everyday Americans.

Megyn Kelly describes the rabidly right wing Michael Reagan as a "devout Catholic." As such, he has become quite the spokesman for the Catholic Church's lawsuits filed against the Obama administration. He joins pedophile priest defender Catholic League president, Bill Donohue as one of Megyn Kelly's go to guys for coverage of the Church's hissy fit - a coverage in which the voices of those who argue against the lawsuits and of those HHS supporting clergy, such as Sr. Carol Keehan of the Catholic Health Association and the Clergy Coalition for Choice are missing. On May 21, the divorced and remarried Reagan talked excitedly about Catholic plans to go all Saul Alinsky over the birth control policy - a tactic which, of course, is considered really nasty when done by "Occupy."  He did an encore on Tuesday's "America Live" during which he and fellow divorced and remarried Catholic Megyn Kelly engaged in happy chat about their Church's militancy and changes in the Catholic mass. And as an added attraction, Reagan gave advice on "getting around" Catholic employers rules on birth control. WTF? Isn't birth control a sin....??

I was all set to do a post praising Chris Wallace for his tough interview with Romney-advisor Ed Gillespie on yesterday's Fox News Sunday. But then I caught the panel discussion and all my props went out the window. It was little more than a thinly disguised effort to paint the Obama campaign as dysfunctional – while mostly ignoring Romney’s dance with the Birther Boy, Donald Trump.

On “objective” America’s News HQ today, Shannon Bream interviewed Wisconsin Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and allowed her to distort the Scott Walker administration’s rather poor record of job losses as one of job creation.

David Zurawik, television critic for the Baltimore Sun, didn’t mince words about Fox News in the wake of its propagandistic anti-Obama video presented as news analysis on Fox & Friends last week. He said that Fox has been “compromised” and that he will deal with Fox “as a political organization primarily… at least through this election cycle” now.

For those of you not into the latest Hollywood news, Justin Bieber has been accused of assaulting one of the paparazzi. The photographer claims that the singer hit him after he took photos of Bieber and his girlfriend. The police are investigating. But Beiber should fear not because he is being defended by a "rich and famous" fellow celebrity. Yes, folks, Bill O'Reilly, who suffered the slings and arrows of the evil press when he was accused of sexual harassment, asks, in his latest column, "is there any justice for Justin?" The column is instructive and amusing as it underscores bully Bill's hypocrisy. While rationalizing what could be bullying behavior on the part of Bieber, bully Bill attacks an unknown "Occupy" protester for doing, apparently, what Bill's paid stalker, Jesse T Watters does all the time. And while Bill's kinky "Caribbean Shower" fantasies are public record, this column reveals that Bill also has no problem with fantasies involving violence. Paging Dr. Ablow?

Part Two of Bill Hemmer’s “Let’s help boost Mitt Romney’s Likeability” in the form of an “exclusive interview” aired on America’s Newsroom Thursday (5/31/12).  This one focused on “faith and family,” as FoxNews.com said in its title. But probably aware of Americans’ significant skepticism about the Mormon religion, Hemmer did his part for the cause and suggested that Romney emulate Barack Obama’s strategy for dealing with the subject.
