Hannity’s Sorry Shouting Match Over Obama’s So-Called ‘Apology Tour’
Sean Hannity hosted David Limbaugh (brother of you-know-who) and Democrat Steve Murphy as part of a presidential debate fact-checking show. But, not surprisingly, Hannity accepted without question Romney’s debate accusation that President Obama went on an “apology tour.” Never mind that this accusation has been widely discredited. But the segment soon turned into a shouting match as Democrat Steve Murphy refused to be interrupted and silenced by the two loud-mouths who seemed to think that spewing hate about America was some kind of badge of patriotism.

It’s one thing to host uber GOP-partisan Karl Rove to comment on last night’s presidential debate but you have to wonder what kind of thinking went into presenting him as a “political analyst.” But that’s exactly what Greta Van Susteren pretended she was doing as she hosted him in her post-presidential debate show last night. Then, predictably, the two of them set about trashing President Barack Obama’s performance and praising Mitt Romney’s.

While US Catholic bishops can't, under the tax code, endorse political candidates, their allegiance to the GOP is quite obvious. Not only are they spending millions of their parishioners' dollars on defeating gay marriage; but they're warning their congregations that hell and damnation await those who vote Democratic. But because their exhortations are limited to the dwindling number of those in the pews, they need a national pulpit from which to preach their anti-Obama message. So who better to do that but Fr. Jonathan Morris who has been given a weekly TV spot on Fox News from which to spread the gospel according to the GOP, Roger Ailes, and the US Catholics bishops - all of whom are praying for the defeat of Barack Obama. On October 16, Morris devoted his weekly Fox & Friends sermonette to accusing Vice-President Joe Biden of lying about how the HHS birth control mandate will affect the Catholic Church. And last Sunday the attack continued with more false Fox witness from the sweet little priest.

One of the zingers of tonight’s debate was President Obama’s comeback at Mitt Romney’s complaint that our Navy is smaller "than any time since 1917.” Obama first replied, “I think Governor Romney maybe hasn’t spent enough time looking at how our military works.” He followed that up with, “You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships that we had in 1916. Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets because the nature of our military has changed. We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them.” But never fear, Republicans, because Fox came quickly to Romney’s rescue with the ridiculous suggestion that President Obama was wrong.

Male chauvinists in the world, rejoice! The Fox News Channel/Fox Business Network not only has your back but has at least three hosts who see things the way you do. And all three of them have decided that there was nothing at all offensive in Mitt Romney’s “binders full of women” comment.
