On Fox News Fr. Jonathan Morris Suggests NY Times Is Untrustworthy!

Posted by Priscilla · April 23, 2012 11:08 AM · 4 reactions

Fox News' official propaganda priest, Father Jonathan Morris, brings new meaning to the expression "holy shit." Just when you think that the sweet little padre might be speaking from his sweet little heart, in comes a right cross (pun intended) that demonstrates his deft ability to work in whatever meme his brother in Christ and the GOP, Roger Ailes, needs repeating. One of the Fox's big memes, especially as articulated by Bill O'Reilly, is that the NY Times is Satan's very own media outlet - as opposed to Fox News being Jesus' and Cardinal Dolan's sacred harp. During his weekly Fox & Friends sermonette, Fr. Morris was able to work in this meme as well as put his own positive spin on those who, according to recent data, are losing faith in society's institutions which include (cue R.E.M.) their religion.

When President Obama spoke at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio, on Wednesday, he said, "I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth." But when Fox News host Steve Doocy repeated it on Fox & Friends to Mitt Romney, it was a false version: "Unlike some people, I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth." Updated with correction.

Another Fox News Sunday Without A Democrat

Posted by · April 22, 2012 11:59 AM · 2 reactions

We can add today's Fox News Sunday to our growing list of FNS programs without a Democratic guest. Today's roster included Republican Governor Mitch Daniels and Independent Joe Lieberman. Sure, Lieberman caucuses with the Democrats and he was Al Gore's VP pick in 2000. But in the last presidential election, Lieberman didn't just back Sen. John McCain, he spoke at the Republican convention in support of McCain.

FoxNews.Com Describes Watergate Figure Chuck Colson As A "Prison Fellowship Founder"

Convicted Watergate-figure Chuck Colson died today. While an article on FoxNews.com rightly identified him as a "Watergate figure" who "turned to religion," a FoxNews.com's video page took a more euphemistic approach. There, Colson was described merely as a "prison fellowship founder."

Geraldo Rivera – who blamed Trayvon Martin's hoodie for his death and then apologized for his comments after they ignited a firestorm – is once again suggesting that minorities wearing hoodies are fair game to be thought of as criminals. On Fox & Friends yesterday, Rivera said about the subject, “Sometimes stereotyping exists because it's based on reality. That's unfortunately the world we live in.”

Take heart Black America: Ann Coulter is looking out for you in the wake of the Trayvon Martin shooting and she's got some advice for those of you who might fear the same fate as Trayvon: Carry a gun and join the NRA. Democrat Hansen Clarke Slaps Down Stuart Varney's Attacks On Student Loan Forgiveness

Posted by · April 20, 2012 1:09 PM · 3 reactions

On Your World yesterday, Stuart Varney repeatedly attacked the Student Loan Forgiveness Act as a "bailout." He couldn't really come up with any other reasons to call it a bad idea, but threw around “bailout” as if that, alone, should scare any viewers away from even thinking about whether or not the Act might have some real merit. Unfortunately for Varney, Rep. Hansen Clarke (D-MI) slapped aside every argument, starting with the point that taxpayers are already on the hook for defaults.
