Fox Host Urges Republicans To Boycott WH Easter Egg Roll
Fox News’ “objective” host Bill Hemmer didn’t just regurgitate Republican talking points yesterday. He came up with his own strategy for Republicans that he then pushed on Karl Rove: “I tell you what Republicans should do: they should boycott the Easter Egg roll on the first of April.”

This very weekend, gentle reader, a group of Tea Party activists is boycotting Fox News because they think it’s gone soft, especially since the last election.
The boycott, which lasts till tomorrow morning according to this article (h/t Headly) is linked to a group that runs a blog called Benghazi Truth! Send the message to FOX, the blogger exhorts. TURN HARD RIGHT -Benghazi, birth certificate - all of it, 24/7, like a serious news organization going after a politician which has always been the job of the media -or just go away.
Read moreTodd Starnes Outrage #1,877,984: Doing the Intercultural Stomp
This week, Fox's ever-horrified culture warrior Todd Starnes is taking up the cause of a student in an Intercultural Communications class at Florida Atlantic University, whose teacher told the class to write the name “Jesus” on a sheet of paper, put the paper on the floor, then stomp on it. According to Starnes’ article, student Ryan Rotela, a “devout Mormon” picked the paper up, put it back on the table, and told instructor Deandre Poole that the assignment was insulting and offensive. He then went to Poole’s supervisor to complain, and was suspended from the class.

It's bad enough when Bill O'Reilly spreads his own toxic lies to his "folks." But when he validates his guest's lie it's even worse. Such was the case, Monday night, when Bill and one of his nasty peeps, Adam Carolla, falsely accused the Huffington Post of suggesting that Carolla is a racist. The article was a factually based recounting of Carolla's testy exchange with Democratic California Secretary of State, Gavin Newsome (Fox's Kimberly Guilfoyle's ex) during which Carolla, not even a college graduate let alone a sociologist, claimed that problem in the African-American community are due to fatherless families and lack of respect for education. Carolla suggested that blacks should emulate Jews if they want to be successful. Obviously, his analysis, is debatable but the Huffington Post didn't editorialize - although O'Reilly and Carolla claimed they did.

Grab the popcorn, News Hounds, there's a new Fox News civil war going on, this time in the Twittersphere. In one corner, we have Fox News contributor and hatriot, Mean Girl Michelle Malkin and in the other corner, Fox News fave, Birther Boy Donald Trump. This fight has all the class you could want. Birther Boy called Malkin a "dummy" and the hatriot retaliated by calling him a "smear merchant."

I don't know if Bill O'Reilly is trying to convince us or himself that he's a good Catholic; but he sure does invoke his religion at every opportunity. His March 7th column was an interesting screed where Bill, once again, scolded everybody, including the Catholic Church. At the same time he made sure that his readers know that while he's a "sinner" (Ya think!) he's OK with Jesus because he attends weekly mass. Meanwhile, according to Gawker, he's trying to damn his wife's soul to hell! What a paragon of Catholicism!!!
Read moreRoger Ailes: The Elephant In The Room Holding Down The GOP
We've written before about how Fox News has become something of a detriment to its own cause. But in a great new column, Media Matters' Eric Boehlert nails it when he points to Roger Ailes' Nixonian-era posturing as the major culprit. As the electoral wing of the Republican party searches its soul about re-branding its message and reaching out to new and more diverse voters, the unofficial communications arm of the GOP over at Fox News continues with the same old, same old red meat for its old, white viewers.

When it comes to vapid, jingoistic patriotism, Fox News is painted in the biggest, boldest, red, white and blue. Any perceived affront to the American flag or American patriotism, including American politicians not sporting American flag bling, quickly becomes part of the Fox propaganda narrative. The latest faux right wing "controversy" is an installment of the very successful CBS show, "The Amazing Race," which OMG was set in Hanoi, Vietnam. While this country is open for American tourism and business, Fox, in echoing right wing complaints, has determined that this was not only an inappropriate venue for the race, but downright unpatriotic and un-American because the racers had to listen to a Vietnamese freedom song and take a clue at the site of a downed American B-52. And in typical Fox fashion, Megyn Kelly's "news" coverage of the episode twisted reality for propaganda purposes which is funny considering that the focus of her and Bob Beckel's complaint was about Vietnamese propaganda!
Read moreBill O’Reilly Now Fighting The ‘War On Easter’ – And It’s Obama’s Fault!
It could have been a Saturday Night Live skit but it wasn’t. Bill O’Reilly declared victory in the War On Christmas tonight and moved on to fight the War on Easter. Yes, Virginia, there are evil secular-progressive Obama supporters out there who “refuse to call it an Easter Egg!” It’s all part of their effort to loosen restrictions on abortion and drugs and tighten restrictions for insulting minorities. I guess you could call it the Obama re-election domino effect!
Read moreMegyn Kelly & Bob Beckel Still Fighting The Vietnam War!
As the mouthpiece for the right wing, Fox News never wastes an opportunity to create "controversy" based on right wing outrage. The latest bit of conservative consternation involves Sunday's installment of CBS's "The Amazing Race" which took place in Hanoi, Vietnam. One of the challenges featured a Vietnamese singing group who sang a Communist song while waving Communist flags. At another point in the competition, the racers took their clues at a box located at the B-52 Memorial which is the wreckage of an American bomber shot down over Hanoi. Tuesday, "The Five" expressed their outrage with what they perceived to be lack of patriotism and insensitivity on the part of CBS. Bob Beckel got particularly unhinged and told CBS execs to "shove it." Beckel (who did not serve) was back on today's "America Live" where he continued to complain.
