David Carr Demolishes 'Liberal Media Bias' Excuse For Romney's Fall - But Overlooks Its Winning Ways

Posted by Ellen · October 01, 2012 2:13 PM · 2 reactions

You can barely turn on Fox News these days without hearing someone whine how the "liberal media bias" is to blame for Mitt Romney's falling poll numbers. David Carr, the New York Times' media critic, rightly demolishes that myth today in an editorial. But what he didn't contemplate is how the myth nonetheless serves some very useful Republican purposes regardless of its absurdity.

Got Irony? Brian Kilmeade Discusses Media Bias With Right Wing Partisan!

Posted by Priscilla · September 30, 2012 1:41 PM · 5 reactions

The talking heads on the so "fair & balanced" Fox News are always whining about media bias. So it was rather amusing to see Fox & Friends advance their narrative, that the mainstream media is "in the tank" for President Obama, with right wing columnist Mona Charen. And we know that she's not biased because her two books ("Useful Idiots: How Liberals Got it Wrong in the Cold War and Still Blame America First" and "Do-Gooders: How Liberals Harm Those They Claim to Help — and the Rest of Us") demonstrate some real journalistic objectivity. Just kidding.

Fox Business Panel Wants To Lessen Schooling To Save Taxpayer Dollars

Posted by Brian · September 30, 2012 12:52 PM · 2 reactions

On yesterday’s Cashin’ In, the topic was allowing students to finish high school in two years instead of four. Although the subject was couched as a benefit to students, it became pretty apparent that the panelists' real interest in the subject was to cut back on spending for education.

Megyn Kelly Pimps Limbaugh Conspiracy Theory?

Posted by Priscilla · September 30, 2012 12:01 PM · 8 reactions

In the alternate reality of GOP "boss" Rush Limbaugh, the man behind the infamous anti-Islamic You Tube video is being persecuted by the Obama administration. While there's no organized "Free Nakoula" movement, it appears that alleged Fox "news" host, Megyn Kelly, is very concerned about his fate and as such, seems to be attempting to generate some sympathy for him. During her interview with the crazed and inchoate professional Islamophobe, David Horowitz, the underlying theme of her presentation was that poor Nakoula was "dragged" from his home "in the middle of the night" by nefarious fascist forces of the LA police. On Friday, she went even further in what she seems to be characterizing as a miscarriage of justice while Fox's Peter Johnson Jr. suggested that it could be connected to the Obama administration. And Fox News says the librul media is biased? Really?

Fox News Pretends Michelle Obama "Injects Race Into Politics"

Posted by Ellen · September 29, 2012 6:31 PM · 2 reactions

Never mind all the race baiting of the Obama's that goes on at Fox News. When Michelle Obama brings up the fact that slaves helped build the White House that she now calls home, Fox News calls the O'Reilly Factor segment discussing those comments, "Michelle Obama injects race into politics." Even though nobody in the discussion felt that she said anything inappropriate or untoward.

Fox Doesn't Mind Dirty Campaigning if Allen West is Doing It

Posted by Margarita · September 29, 2012 3:57 PM · 2 reactions

Fox News in general, and Sean Hannity in particular, are accusing the Obama campaign of being the “dirtiest ever,” and bemoaning its use of attack ads. Yet when Fox Fave Rep. Allen West uses a sorry incident in his rival’s reckless youth as material for an attack ad, he nods approvingly, Fox Nation calls it “inspiring” and the wingnuts eat it up.

Bill O'Reilly & Wingmen Diss "Useful Idiot" Feminists & "War On Women"

Posted by Priscilla · September 29, 2012 1:26 PM · 4 reactions

Given his blatant misogyny, especially towards women who stand up for reproductive rights, it's not surprising that Bill O'Reilly's posee includes four men whose attitude towards liberal women, especially those who stand up for reproductive rights, is nothing if not misogynistic. It's also not surprising that these four Neanderthals would validate O'Reilly's contention that the epic attempt to role back reproductive rights is being imagined by women who don't know their place. Adam Carolla compared the requirement that health insurers provide free contraception to getting free beer. Dennis Miller admonished Sandra Fluke to "stop whining" - a phrase used by Greg Gutfeld on "The Five." And two weeks ago (9/14) Bernard McGuirk, who had no problem referring to black women as "nappy headed ho's," and Gutfeld provided more validation for big, spin pimping daddy Bill O'Reilly in his ongoing jihad against women's reproductive rights and those women who support them.

McGuirk And Gutfeld Discuss Throwing A Prayer Rug At Obama During The Debate

Posted by Ellen · September 29, 2012 12:04 PM · 5 reactions

Last night, Bill O’Reilly called on his two regular Friday-night guests, Bernard McGuirk and Greg Gutfeld to give each of the presidential candidates advice for the upcoming debate. McGuirk said Romney needs to use “colorful language” and to take “a couple of cheap shots.” But, McGuirk added, “I’m not saying grab a prayer rug and throw it at the president.” However, Gutfeld – even though he was supposed to be advising President Obama – endorsed the idea. ““I am! I’m suggesting that!” Gutfeld exclaimed gleefully.

Hannity Talking Impeachment Again, This Time Over Benghazi Attack

Posted by Ellen · September 28, 2012 3:52 PM · 23 reactions

Here we go again. Not since Sestak-gate, no, Fast and Furious-gate, no campaign-ad-gate has Sean Hannity asked “What did the president know, when did he know it?” as if impeachment is imminent – this time over Benghazi-gate. Well, in his dreams, anyway.
