If Sandra Fluke were a conservative, I can just imagine the 24/7 hissy fit on Fox News about liberals’ attack on free speech were they to make the same remarks about her that conservatives have. But since she had the nerve to speak out on behalf of Obama’s health insurance mandate for contraception – and Rush Limbaugh verbally raped her – Fluke is firmly on the Fox News enemies list. Enter Ann Coulter - with a black brastrap sticking out from the white straps of her low-cut dress - on Hannity last night. 

Looks like Bill O'Reilly needs to lawyer up again. Both he and Greta Van Susteren face a lawsuit from the owner of the NY based "Drum Cafe," Aviva Nash, for what she feels is their portrayal of her as a con artist who steals from taxpayers. Her allegations of defamation of character and emotional distress are based on segments, done by the aforementioned hosts, during which they bashed the GSA for ceremony expenses which included drumsticks provided by Nash's company. While neither host mentioned Nash by name, they showed conference footage of Ms. Nash and her group. *O'Reilly's news correspondent for the piece, Juliette Huddy (also a defendant), described her as "hippy dippy" and after showing the same footage, Van Susteren said that the drum exercise was "insane" and that the expenses of the conference amount to stealing. As such, Ms. Nash claims that Van Susteren suggested that Nash was running a con. She also alleges that she has lost business as a result of Fox's exposure.  And so it goes...

Sean Hannity was all excited last night about his latest finding that he thought demonstrated the Obama campaign had illegally coordinated with its SuperPac, Priorities USA, on a controversial ad featuring a steelworker tying the death of his wife to the loss of his job - and family health insurance - at a plant closed by Bain Capital. But unfortunately for Hannity – who kept sensationalizing the ad a little more each time he brought it up  – guest Ann Coulter seemed more interested in attacking the Romney campaign over its reaction to the ad than she was in exploring how to throw the book at Obama.

To be fair, Fox Nation took its headline from the Wall Street Journal editorial that was excerpted. But the Journal's article was called, OK, Let's Debate Gun Control! "Civil," "tolerant" Fox Nation ignored that in favor the more inflammatory attack on Obama. It's worth noting that the only context in which Obama's name is mentioned in the Fox Nation excerpt is a complaint from New York City's Mayor Bloomberg that Obama is not doing enough on behalf of gun control.  (H/T Aria)

Sean Hannity “vetted” President Obama again last night – this time by trotting out Wayne Allyn Root, to regurgitate the completely discredited accusation that nobody at Columbia University ever saw or remembers Barack Obama during the years he was a student there. Root’s thesis is that Obama attended Columbia as some kind of black radical, foreign student. But Hannity – who has a long history of cozying up to bigots – whitewashed the racial aspects out of Root’s accusations during the broadcast. Hannity also feigned distance with his questions - yet left out any mention of the actual evidence that proves Root wrong.

Donald Trump appeared on On The Record tonight for a lengthy interview in which he renewed his accusations that President Obama’s birth certificate is not valid and added to it by asking for his passport and college records. Host Greta Van Susteren has repeatedly made it clear she doesn’t buy Trump’s birtherism. Yet she once again presented Trump as a credible figure on the electoral scene.

Greta Van Susteren hosted RNC chair Reince Priebus last night for a bash session discussion about what she called Harry Reid’s “dirty” tactics in citing an unnamed source to accuse Mitt Romney of not paying taxes for a decade. Van Susteren said, “It’s one thing to name names so it can be investigated to see if it’s true. It is another thing to just stir up gossip and rumor by throwing around explosive and poisonous allegations.”  That is, unless such allegations come from a Fox fave like Donald Trump or Sarah Palin. Or even Priebus who right then and there went on to make an unsubstantiated and poisonous allegation about President Obama to which Van Susteren offered no challenge.

Stephen Colbert did a hilarious send up of Mike Huckabee's Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day last night. Colbert postulated that Chick-Fil-A may have hit on a new business strategy: "Just associate your product with a divisive political position and then wait for the cash to roll in."  He went on to give Huckabee some comedic props by thanking him "for cementing in the minds of nonbelievers just what my religion stands for."

While the secular and libral faith communities welcome the Obama administration's birth control mandate, which also provides other potentially live saving services to women, the GOP and the Catholic bishops are in a total tizzy about this supposed affront to religious freedom. In an awesomely batshit crazy comment, GOP House Rep., Mike Kelly, compared the mandate to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He added that the day that the mandate began was the day that freedom died. While most folks would burst out laughing at Kelly's comments, Gretchen Carlson reported them solemnly. And as the mouthpiece for the GOP and the Catholic bishops, Fox News has been providing ongoing validation of the anti-Obama, anti-contraceptive policy talking points which include the lie that it includes abortion drugs. Sunday, Fox priest, Fr. Jonathan Morris was back for what looks like his ninth anti-Obama, anti-birth control propaganda pushing appearance on Fox. Morris, who still hasn't given his life or gone to jail in fighting against the mandate, used part of his weekly sermon to lie about abortion inducing drugs. Meanwhile, pro-mandate clergy have yet to give a Sunday sermon on Fox News! (Guess that would be heresy?)

Sean Hannity aired a two-segment interview with former Vice President Dick Cheney tonight. In the first part, Cheney spent a lot of time explaining his recent remarks that John McCain made a “mistake” in picking Sarah Palin as a VP candidate because she was “not ready to take over.” In the second segment, Hannity made sure to elicit comments from Cheney that President Obama is also not qualified to be President – and did his best to suggest that Palin would have been more qualified.
