Shep Smith And Judge Napolitano Smack Down Gov. Brewer's Immigration Law Victory Claim
Shepard Smith contradicted Fox's own coverage of the Supreme Court's immigration ruling when he and Judge Andrew Napolitano smacked down Airzona Governor Jan Brewer's bizarre claim that the "heart" of her state's law had been "vindicated." Smith said he was "just kind of scratching my head" over Brewer's statements. Then, he added, "I felt like the Yankees had just played the Red Sox in a four-game set; the Yankees had won three out of four and the Red Sox claimed a series victory because they got one game."

Geraldo “Blame The Hoodie” Rivera reviewed a newly-released police video of George Zimmerman re-enacting his deadly confrontation with unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin – and declared that “race played no part” in the shooting. Rivera's sole criteria for his judgment was that Zimmerman had not mentioned that Martin was black during the re-enactment. Yet moments earlier, Rivera had acknowledged that Zimmerman was shrewdly putting his best legal foot forward in the video.
Read moreBill O'Reilly Complains That Public Schools Are Ignoring God!
Bill O'Reilly is an educated man; but when it comes to religion he retreats into the comfy narrow dogmatism of 1950's Catholic education which provided both questions and answers as determined by the Magisterium. Any disagreement with the script was marked with a stern reprimand. That Bill learned his lessons well is shown by his incisive theological exegesis about the divine nature of the tides, Jesus guided evolution, and atheists suck. And as a devout Catholic who has taken over the patriarchal role of looking out for us, he is distressed about a new survey which shows that belief in God, among young people, is plummeting. For Bill, this is troubling and an example of more creeping secularism which, according to Bill, is actually the fault of the American public school system which Bill reprimanded in last week's "Factor's" discussion on how kids might be, in the words of R.E.M., loosing their religion.

The Supreme Court has just struck down three out of the four challenged provisions of Arizona's controversial immigration law, SB 1070. As USA Torday reported (via Tucson.com):
The court, in a 5-3 ruling, left standing only the “check your papers” part of the law that requires state and local police to perform roadside immigration checks of people they’ve stopped or detained if a “reasonable suspicion” exists that they are in the country illegally.
The court indicated, however, that even that section could face further legal challenges.
So how is Fox News reporting this? It depends which site you're on.

Forbes on Fox discussed Vice President Biden saying “we owe” public union workers for the work they do. Host David Asman set the tone for the discussion by saying, “We don’t owe them, they owe us.”

Of all the bias I've seen on Fox in the eight years since I've been writing about the "fair and balanced" network, I don't think anything could be worse than the continuing role of Heather Childers as "objective news" host. You may recall she tweeted a request for “thoughts” as to whether or not the Obama campaign threatened to kill Chelsea Clinton in order to keep Bill and Hillary Clinton from spilling the beans about then-candidate Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Not only does Childers still have her job co-hosting America's News HQ, which is supposed to an "objective" news show, but she's also the co-host of Fox & Friends First where Fox had no problem with her hosting a segment about the Fast and Furious controversy.

Rep. Darrell Issa went on Fox News Sunday today to discuss the Fast and Furious scandal. Host Chris Wallace’s grilling suggested that there’s a rift in the Republican Party over Issa’s handling of the investigation and his Oversight Committee’s grandstanding vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. Perhaps it was because he’s feeling the heat that Issa ridiculously said he thought as many as 31 House Democrats would go along with the “official” contempt vote now pending in the full House.
Read moreCue The Laugh Track - Vatican Hires Fox News Reporter To Improve Its Image!
A scandal ridden Vatican reaches out to an American news network that is owned by a man who was knighted by the Pope for his financial contributions. This network provides the papacy with total support for their opposition to a Democratic American president's policy on contraceptive equality. An American cardinal publicly derides the Democratic president on this news network which is a mouthpiece for the reactionary, religious right. This network employs, as its only official clergy *religious contributor, a Catholic priest who had been a member of a secretive and scandal ridden order and who uses his network pulpit to promote Catholic dogma and reactionary, right wing politics. The network also employs, as a legal analyst, a Catholic "Knight of Malta." In order to improve its image, tarnished by pedophile priests and reports of corruption at its core, the Vatican hires a reporter, who is also a member of a Catholic cult, from this network. While this seeming quid-pro-quo sounds like a plot in a Dan Brown novel, it's not fiction. The Vatican just hired Fox News' Rome correspondent to "help its communication strategy." Material for a Da Vinci Code sequel?

I've been posting about how Fox News has suddenly been using the parents of murdered Border Agent Brian Terry to promote its Fast and Furious attacks on Attorney General Eric Holder - and just at the same time as Republican House Speaker John Boehner has been doing the same thing. Lo and behold, I caught Fox & Friends Steve Doocy joining the club on Friday (6/22/12).
