Bill Hemmer Does His Part To Help Boost Romney’s Likeability
On the same day that Fox & Friends unveiled its 4-minute anti-Obama attack ad in the guise of a review of President Obama’s last four years, Fox’s America’s Newsroom played Part 1 of co-host Bill Hemmer’s softball interview called Getting to know the Romneys which just so happened to (uncritically) address the very issues that Romney needs help with: his likeability factor. Co-host Martha MacCallum even acknowledged that during her brief chat with Hemmer after the interview.

Following on the heels of Sean Hannity's "teasers" that are indistinguishable from an anti-Obama campaign ad, Fox & Friends has now produced and aired a nearly four-minute video called Four years of 'Hope and Change' that takes a not-so-fair-and-balanced look at the first term of the Obama administration. UPDATED with disavowal from Fox's Executive Vice President of Programming.

Recently, Roger Ailes said in a speech that that Jon Stewart had privately admitted to being a socialist. Well, folks, Stewart did not take that lying down! He not only skewered Ailes, he lambasted Fox's attacks on socialism head on.

The newest right wing, Fox abetted whine focuses on how the evil, librul media is ignoring the Catholic lawsuits filed against the evil, librul, Obama administration. But these folks shouldn't fret too much because Fox News has their back. Along with Fox "opinion," the alleged "fair & balanced" Fox "news" has taken up the cause of conservative Catholics, chief among them Fox superstar, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who believes that the HHS contraception mandate is a violation of religious freedom. (Women's rights, meh!) At the beginning of a week that witnessed Fox News' Bill Hemmer's three day Cardinal Dolan lovefest, Fox News' Bret Baier presented a report that paid homage to the talking points of the Catholic bishops. And on Friday, Baier finished up his Catholic suck-up-palooza with the second "news" piece that was straight out of Fox propaganda central casting. While the Friday report was similar to Monday's, it included the aforementioned meme about the unwillingness of the mainstream media to cover this Catholic "outrage" which, for Fox and it's right wing anti-Obama Catholic political (but strictly chaste) bed fellows, makes the Christians and lions thing look benign by comparison.

With Fox News, as the saying goes, one hand washes the other. If somebody on the "fair & balanced" Fox "news" network promotes a right wing meme in a baseless and denigrating manner, the video and transcript work their way into that bastion of intellectualism and tolerance known as Fox Nation. Last night, Bill O'Reilly pimped another Planned Parenthood "sting" video done by the pro-life prom queen, Lila Rose. The video and transcript are on Fox Nation. The title couldn't be any more propagandistic: "The Real War on Women, Sex Selection Abortion Thrives in America Courtesy of Planned Parenthood." Never mind propaganda. This is one big fat LIE.

Donald Trump visited On The Record last night where he repeatedly made the ludicrous claim that he’d prefer to be discussing business, not birtherism, and that it’s really the media’s fault that he keeps getting asked about it. Host Greta Van Susteren could have and, in my opinion, should have cut him to shreds over that but the job she did do was not too shabby. Still, since she clearly doubted much of what Trump told her, you have to wonder why she didn’t question Trump about the results of his investigation in Hawaii he boasted about last year.
Read moreBill O'Reilly Equates Planned Parenthood With Chinese Forced Abortion Policy?
Bill O'Reilly is an aging Catholic "traditionalist" who uses his show, on the "Fair & Balanced" Fox News network, to promote his and his fellow "pro-lifers" hatred of Planned Parenthood, an organization that serves the health needs of low income women. As a self proclaimed fighter for the rights of the unborn (women, not so much), he has unabashedly promoted the sting videos of Lila Rose, the virginal diva of the anti-choice movement who specializes in "sting videos" which purport to show Planned Parenthood workers in violation of the law. As documented on Media Matters, the videos of the well funded Rose, who started her "sting" career with the human slime video journalist James O'Keefe, are hoaxes which have not resulted in any criminal prosecutions. Her group, "Live Action" just released a video that had all the anti-choice crazies in high dudgeon. Once again, it's a bogus, manufactured controversy. But that didn't stop "baby saver" Bill from showing a little love for Lila whose ineffective crusade to shut down Planned Parenthood dovetails nicely with pro-life "Courage Award" winner Bill O'Reilly.

Donald Trump has doubled down on his birtherism of late. Just as Mitt Romney is about to clinch the Republican nomination – and on the same night that Romney will be fundraising with Trump in Las Vegas. But that’s no biggie to four out of five co-hosts of The Five. It was barely worth a thought. In fact, if it weren’t so disturbing watching them fall all over themselves thinking of ways to praise Trump without endorsing his birtherism, you might be doubled over in laughter listening to them gush about his “pizzazz” that nonetheless “connects with the modern man.”
Read moreBret Baier Uses "Trivial" Transgender Bias Complaint To Bash Obama's DOJ?
On the right wing list of things most loathed, President Obama is right on top. Following close behind is the LGBT community which, according to today's radical right, is imposing a nefarious agenda meant to destroy heterosexual America as we know it. As the mouthpiece for the right, Fox News never wastes an opportunity to bash Obama and his administration - and that, sadly, includes mocking the transgender community. Last week, alleged official Fox "news" host Bret Baier, demonstrated that there is no depth to which Fox News will not sink when it comes to smearing Obama and, in the process, attacking an innocent American who was just fighting for her rights.

FoxNews.com ran a story entitled "Global warming sleptics as knowledgeable about science as climate change believers." According to the article "people who are not that worried about the effects of global warming tend to have a slightly higher level of scientific knowledge than those who are worried.” But Fox failed to note that the questions asked by the study it was citing had no relation to climate change and that the study considered more variables than Fox decided to mention.
