Fox Panelist Dismisses Calls For Tighter Regulation As “A Typical Washington Response”
On Tuesday's Special Report (5/15/12), the topic for the "All-Star" panel was JP Morgan Chase losing two billion dollars, and the head of JP Morgan apologizing to shareholders for making "risky bets." Panelist Steve Hayes said, "You hear from Washington immediately calls for tighter regulations. It's not even clear that this would've been prevented by the regulations had they been been fully implemented, at this point and yet you have these calls for tighter regulations. It's a typical Washington response to a problem that may not yet even need a solution."

During Night Two of Sean Hannity’s suck up interview with discredited author Ed Klein, Hannity continued his uncritical fascination with Klein’s questionable revelations about President Obama in his latest book. In Part 2 of last night’s go-round, Hannity once again fixated on Rev. Jeremiah Wright. But this time, Hannity used Klein’s lengthy interview with Wright to draw Klein into suggesting President Obama is or was a Muslim – and then pretended otherwise – despite dropping his own little Obama-as-Muslim hints. The only real challenge Hannity presented to Klein was to ask why he had spoken ill of Hannity during the interview with Wright. Curiously, Klein “explained” that away by saying he had deliberately misrepresented his views in order to dupe Wright into confiding in him. So there was an author – whose credibility was already dubious - admitting on prime time television that he used dishonest tactics in his big interview. And Hannity didn’t even seem to care.

Is the right running out of material to smear Obama with? Are they so desperate for dirt that they have to create it themselves? That’s what Fox News seems to be doing by covering the story of a “secret” deal President Obama made with pharmaceutical companies in 2009, to get them to back his health care reform law.

Fox News is fairly dancing with joy over the opposition of some African-American leaders, particularly evangelical pastors, to President Obama’s support for same-sex marriage. Whee! Something else to smash the President around with! Not one to pass up that opportunity, Sean Hannity had two prominent black conservatives as guests on Tuesday night: Bishop Harry Jackson, pastor of Hope Christian Church, and former Republican Presidential candidate Herman Cain. Hannity spent about half the “interview” aiming off-topic gobs of venom at Obama, but he did manage to let his guests get a few points across.

Not since Sestak-gate (remember that scandal?), has Sean Hannity seemed so upbeat about the chances of turning President Obama into a crook, at least in the public eye. Last night, Hannity welcomed discredited author Ed Klein for a double segment on his show to discuss hush money supposedly offered to Rev. Jeremiah Wright by the Barack Obama campaign in 2008.
Read moreDick Morris Disses Fox News Poll To Predict A Big Romney Win
A Fox News poll came out yesterday with, as Bill O’Reilly put it last night, “good news for Barack Obama.” Somehow, he forgot to mention most of the bad news for Romney in it as well. But both O’Reilly and Dick Morris gave other, more-favorable-to-Romney polls more prominence last night in a discussion about the upcoming election. In fact, Morris was so definite about what he sees as Obama’s imminent political demise, that O’Reilly said he’d be “through” if Obama wins.
Read moreBill O'Reilly Claims Judge Says "F-You" To Christians In 10 Commandment Case
As the arbiter of American morality, Bill O'Reilly draws from his vast trove of theological expertise. His exegesis on the divine nature of the tides rivals anything put forth by Augustine and Aquinas. Thus, it seems fitting that Fox's very own "Il Papa" had the opportunity to share his infallible opinion on the Fox generated "controversy" over a Virginia judge's suggestion that, in a long standing dispute over the posting of the 10 Commandments in a public school, six of the commandments could be excised. While the rest of the reality based world ignored this arguably strange suggestion, Fox was on it. It was discussed by the Christian choir on "The Five" and by official and only Fox clergy, Fr. Jonathan Morris. Never wasting an opportunity to express his deeply held religious views that include bashing those who aren't down with "Judeo-Christianity," Bill discussed the topic on last week's "Culture Warriors" segment during which uber Christian warrior princess, Gretchen Carlson got to work in a reference to - drum roll please - evil "political correctness" while Bill got to read the mind of the judge in question and remind us about how we're a "Judeo-Christian nation." It was all good...
Read moreBen Stein Critiques Obama: “Not In The Same League Of Presidential Genius As Nixon”
I seriously wasn’t sure at first if Ben Stein was joking or not when he acknowledged on The O’Reilly Factor tonight that President Obama is smart but not “in the same league of presidential genius as Nixon.” But Stein was not kidding.
Read moreO’Reilly Uses Norfolk, VA Case To Suggest Eric Holder’s A Black Racist
Although Bill O’Reilly repeatedly insisted that his interest in the “race-based” case in Norfolk, Virginia was making sure justice was done, a discussion with Charles Krauthammer last night suggested an ulterior motive of using the case against a fave Fox News target, Eric Holder. And it’s not the first time we’ve seen that hint.
